Funnily enough booth were true her fighting with abuela is what finished off the miracle then reconciling with abuela and helping her see how she was wrong brought it back.

I absolutely loved this one. Mirabel more than had a reason to become a straight up villain. The fact she didn’t in the OG canon shows how compassionate and strong-willed she is. That said, I do like how this canon basically has her give in to those feelings of despair and actually become the villain. It shows how much it affected her.

It is funny that sometimes it takes one thing to truly open your eyes( pun not intended) A lot of my friends though all Disney movies and shows were too tame but after watching encanto and seeing the right after collapse she chose to be a hero over a villain. But that opens a lot of questions like what if Mulan was discovered early? She would obviously blame herself for her father death and that guilt could turn her into being a conqueror. What if Hercules was too betrayed by Meg to help her, her rage and hate would be too much for the river to cool and see could eventually take hades down becoming the goddess

Wow. That was best villain song (though Meg's comes a pretty close second). I just love picturing what the story would have been like if Mirabel truly did allow the darkness to consume her after dealing with generational trauma for years from her own family - as well as practically being neglected from the villagers. The darkness being her only true companion, and turned her into the one that destroyed the magic. Though I wish Mirabel told off all of her family members; saving her grandmother for last. If Disney actually did that, made the protagonist become the villain...that definitely would have been something different. I guess we'll just have to wait until FanScription comes up with one.

This song literally is what I want in the movie so badly, I love how the lines cut deep. She’s just holding up the mirror and showing them exactly what they ‘don’t’ want to see. There’s another song that follows this almost, its called ‘open your eyes’ an that one follows an Alternate story.

Pretty much Brunos prophecy predicted Mirabel was going to make or break the legacy the original Mirabelle has all the reasons to choose break. She chose remake this Mirabel chose break. So yeah, if you were ever wondering what would happen if Mirabel chose to break the legacy now you know

If you pay attention, Camilo (her cousin) also tries to reach out to her since they grew up together. On top of that, we also catch a glimpse of Antonio (the kid) crying and a split second later, we also see Mirabel crying.

Watch the scene when the lyrics of: Time to bring this family down, yeah I’m the villain in your fairytale now. You can see Julieta is absolutely broken in this scene. She wants to help her daughters but can’t go against Mirabel because Mirabel is her daughter too. I think she’s about to faint.

Also, iirc, the super hearing girl is named Dolores, but she’s Mirabel’s cousin, not her sister. Mirabel’s sisters are Luisa and Isabela (the super strength and plant girl respectively).

Imo, probably the best installment of the "but they're villians" series from Lydia, definitely my favorite! I adore the Dolores part, you're totally right, those lines go hard. Personally I would I have wanted to see this actually happen in the movie as it would have made more sense to as within the song waiting for a miracle we actually see how she feels about this. But at the end of near end she would have a redemption of some type. Anyone else agree?
