This is amazing! It's also nice to see the "older" version of this song! (a lot of parts were later cut out, like the "why do bad things always happen to good people")

This was fantastic, the best amateur matilda ive seen. This high school must have some serious theatre students attending it

@@rcantwell161 I'm thinking of auditioning for Lavender soon. Any suggestions for what I could audition with?
@rcantwell1615 жыл бұрын
@@anajordan320 ooh, I don't know...I couldn't hear our lavender's audition song but there was some Dancing through Life, I'll Make A Man Out Of You, and Naughty. Lavender doesnt have a solo song or a huge singing role, so you can probably get away with a simpler song as long as you have the right charisma.

Why aren’t they all doing British accents? It’s set in England, when ever I do an American production we all have to do American accents! Some of them do, but some of them don’t! And the ones that do aren’t brilliant! Other than that it’s great
@joanyou62545 жыл бұрын
Cuz if they bought the rights to be able to do this show they aren't allowed to do it in a British accent. Cuz I believe the original Broadway show wasn't in British. Only the characters like Mrs. Wormwood that have that accent as part of their characters are allowed to do it. That's why my production of this can't do the accents either
@madisonjones88383 жыл бұрын
They might be doing it similar to the movie, which is set in the US.
@caril.9384 Жыл бұрын
@@joanyou6254 Weird. In the Broadway show, everyone has an accent. Some of the songs like "Revolting Children" and "School Song" NEED a British accent to work
@joanyou6254 Жыл бұрын
@@caril.9384 idk mate, this was 3yrs ago lel. From what I remember of our highschool production back then, it had been listen in the rights and information specifically which characters we were allowed to use the accents for. Going against those rights would mean we couldn't produce the show. Some people choose to ignore some of the info (cuz they figure the og artist isn't gonna see it), but idk fr man

This song is so funny to me. The in-your-face jab at the way that children were coddled into believing that they are special little snowflakes when in reality people are a dime a dozen fills me with warm smugginess

They’re talented, but it’s not as quite cute or charming when portrayed with teens this old. 13-14 year olds who look younger would be the oldest kids who could perform this and it still be as cute and charming as the younger kids who perform it on Broadway, in my opinion.
