I began using Eight early this summer. Kept the aphids off of my plum tree as well as keeping the Japanese beetles off of my plums, cherries, apples and grapes. Worked immediately and only sprayed once. Not one Japanese beetle on any of my plants the whole rest of the summer. Eight is great!

You can paint white a foot to two feet high from bottom to top of the trunk and keep a lot of bugs off that way too😊

It looked like a Peach Tree, I was thinking Copper before you showed it. I’d do Copper / Soap/ Neem.

How often do you spray?

What if you have fruit on your trees already. If you spray the fruit can you still eat the fruit?

Do you eat the stuff you bought at the market .? Wash it da.

@@glennplatvoet7111 I heard it soaks inside the fruit and does not just sit on top of it. That is why I ask

That’s a good question, I used Malathion. I have to wait 7 days to eat. Also the 1-800 number on the jug was really handy! The operator was really knowledgeable and gave me great info on the product

So I can't even use this Captain Jack's copper fungicide without mixing it? Is that true
@PlantFanatics3 ай бұрын
Yes, the fungicide can be used without mixing. The only reason for the mixing is to spray both sprays in a single application. Both can be used alone as well.

But the spray is bad for you and the soil. Organic is better.

Organic is always better. Though not always sufficient. I understand and respect what you’re saying though.

@PlantFanatics yeah well the multiple organic farms in have worked on beg to differ. We need to learn how to work with soil and microorganisms like endophytes in order to survive here on Earth. We cannot feed our current increasing population and sustain the sufficient ecological systems necessary for life if we keep putting chemicals everywhere.

Organic farms cannot sustain earths population. We need potent chemical sprays to grow food for everybody.

Permethrin is also used to kill lice on your head. Must be horrible if you can rub it into a child's scalp. It will not make you sick unless you drink the bottle. Not poison!

Copper isn't poison.

I use no insecticides or fungicide, and i have no problems with getting tonnes of fruit. I see no point in spraying poison in my garden. It would be more interesting to see ways of attracting bugs and birds who eats the aphids and other "baddies".
@matthewkurt22462 жыл бұрын
Permethrin in Eight is non-toxic. You couldn't possibly attract enough birds and insects to take care of a bad aphid infestation. Due to it being non-toxic, you can spray it directly on fruit and vegetables, just don't spray it on flowers. Spray before flowering or after fruits and vegetables begin to develop.

You’re very lucky! Most people aren’t so lucky. Peaches are highly susceptible to peach borer which will kill your entire tree in a heartbeat. Most people who don’t have pests either haven’t had their tree very long, or they live in an area that’s not as bad as others. Not all insecticides and fungicides are poisons. Copper is considered organic. 😀

Yes it’s safe for organic gardening and doesn’t harm nobody

I do not understand how copper can be considered organic as it does not contain carbon (organic chemistry = carbon based)

For 5 years I did everything organic. My trees pretty much died or gave very little, inedible fruit. This year with my teenage son we started using all non-organic fertilizer, roundup for weeds etc and the trees are reborn, we are absolutely surprised how good they are after just a couple of months. I will never use organic again. Even a fig tree that we thought died two years ago now is full of green lush leaves
