Konami obviously overlooked flaws in some of cards they designed for Monarch. Because they went in overdrive turning from deck which they wanted to be competitive in this madness. Who knew that once what was considered to be one of worst monarchs(Zaborg ) would now be one of most devastating ones.I guess mask of restrict will be seeing much more play from now on.

Two new ideas to try with the Monarchs. Chain burn with the massive chains this deck conjures up. And Goddess Sophia. I think this deck can actually do it. It has the rituals and fusions. Just a couple of easy xyzs and synchros and the monarchs can ruin the day of the opponent in a different way. I think Im going to experiment with the Goddess Sophia aspect. Burn damage is too boring for me but I am sure there is a way to incorporate it. If anyone has any good recommendations for either, let me know.

It's fun how a deck that supposed to have no extra deck has one of the better utilities for it. This example doesn't use xyz monsters like the very first builds did, but it uses all the others. The question was if it would be viable at all and now we see all the things it can do. This must be the first deck in a long time that completely broke the expectations. All it needs is some extra consistency. Also the fact that tributing for zaborg to kill himself just for the effect just shows how broken it's effect is. Can't ss monsters from extra deck? It's cool bro, I'll just throw them to grave and plus off of it. I hate the fact that the other monarchs don't get screen time and that Escher the frost vassal doesn't have a second effect (since konami only nerfs cards instead of buffing).

All the combos. Still looking for other ways to break the card, but I think that is the best combo I'll probably get for it myself. I'm Dell btw if anyone recalls from the stream. Probably plenty of ways to buff the engine. Look forward to seeing any better version people can make up. Was considering Lord of the Red over Gishki, but Gishkis otked much better.

Pendulum monsters go face up in the extra deck, and can be resummoned by performing a pendulum summon i believe.

+NinjaBryden Thing is, Monarchs don't care. There are too many things in the monarch deck that are unfair to just say "yeah, this card is the problem." My biggest problem is their field spell. I don't care if your deck's gimmick is that you tribute summon monsters, but when your deck has a main deck card that completely shuts down 99% of the other decks, I think that's a problem. They hit D Fissure and Macro to 1, they should to the same with the monarch field spell.

Only reason this duel went the way it did is cause of how tag duel/ 2 v 2 works in ygopro. 2v2 should actually be different with no sharing field (as in you have your own monster field/backrow), no sharing LP ( both players have their own 8000 LP), as well no sharing grave for effects like exchange of the spirit/call of the haunted/avarice/etc. The only similarities would be that each player makes their turn one at a time.

The way that it works just isn't that great. You even saw it yourself with exchange of the spirit. With the combined graveyards the opposing player was screwed over insanely hard. Their total grave wasn't even over 15 yet it was only able to take effect because the graves are shared. When EoS was activated the graves were 8 + 15. If graves weren't shared it'd have been more fair because you'd have to wait for all players to reach 15+ cards. Also with the separate LP it makes it much better because if your partner reaches 0 LP you still have a chance to play.

Empaths-Gemstones Also monarchs are getting far overhyped. Every single deck that is tier 1-2 is overhyped. Remember greydles? they didn't do jack in the meta really. Igknights were overhyped and nowadays they take too long to set up plays that have no protection so it doesn't matter anymore. Monarchs will be tier 2 on a good day.

+Judojugs gaming Igknights were hyped because of the key beetle lock. After the official ruling was released, the deck's hype started to die. I also have yet to see anyone say that Greydles will be tier 1. Monarchs are fairly consistent with what they do and plus for days. They're prone to brick hands, but that's expected from pretty much every deck (with the exception of a few).

Also, all you need in your hand to pull off this combo is Zaborg and tributes (Original Monarch in grave, Idea, Eirdos, or the Monarch's stormforth.) If your smart you clear the backrow with Mobius then go in. AND you can search Zaborg with Aether.
