If you think about it, the witcher 3 was never about Geralt, because his hero’s journey was told in the books and the preceding games; Ciri was the Arthurian legend the ballad would remember, and you the player didn’t play as the traditional ‘chosen one’ character, but rather the person who influences and builds the girl into the legend.

It was actually considered the most appropriate polearm for them (the other polearms on the battlefield were longer and heavier, plus a Naginata could allow even a weaker person to decapitate someone).

Damn, fighting as Ciri was one of the coolest things in Witcher 3. I wish there was a way to obtain that Teleport Spam skill for Geralt. Alas, that would make no sense lore-wise :P I wonder, did Gavin read the books? Ciri becomes even more interesting in the game when one knows what kind of character she was before.

Kazmistrz1993 I agree that the most fun I had in The Witcher 3 I had while fighting as Ciri. It wasn't as complex as Geralt's fighting, so it was the right call to limit the time of the sections, but the faster, lighter combat really appealed to me. Dodge roll is great, a staple of any character action game, but blink will always be more fun.

Kazmistrz1993 Ciri is amazing, from a princess to a witcher to a fisstech snorting lesbian bandit, to a slave, to a time and cross dimension traveler, pretty fucking badass. And you can't forget she was friends with unicorns and was supposed to be mother of wild hunt next king, who knows maybe if they would have viagra in this world she could have been Aen Elle queen.

Kazmistrz1993 I kind of hated that she sopped the white frost - for book-Ciri it was an integral part of her character arc that she decided she cared about her personal happiness more than her duties of birth, and so for her to stop the white frost undoes that arc.

aNerdNamedJames Honestly, I just pretend that the books and the games are separate entities. The games aren't bad, but there is the mild issue of their storyline blatantly contradicting the established stories. That being said, I wouldn't say that she cared about personal happiness more than her destiny - at the end, she almost seemed to accept it before asking for time. and considering that she can jump through time, it's potentially possible that she does eventually find the maturity and selflessness to come back and face fate.

The Reason why I Love Ciri so much. She wields the blood that is capable of manipulating Time and Space, She is thought by one of the, if not the best swordmaster in her world. She is literally a Goddess but despite all of this she just wants to feel happiness and freedom, but every time there is a catastrophe her heroic side surfaces and she ends up saving the world. Plus she has that sort of attitude which I find attractive.
