"To pluck the strings of destiny." Fun fact: In Norse myth, everyone's fates, even the gods themselves, were woven by the Norns, and once spun were immutable. You could never defy your fate, which is why the gods knew they were all destined to die come Ragnarok, no matter how they prepared (and prepare they did). You can't defy your fate. . . but you can embrace it, take it into your own hands. Pluck the strings of destiny, as it were.

The Norns carved the fate of everyone into wood, the narrative director of the game said that the weaving metaphor worked better for the story so they went with that instead. Also the name, of the Norns Urthr, Verthandi and Skuld, translate to Has been, Becoming and Shoud. Fate was not immutable save for Ragnarok, and it was our decisions that solidified the fate of us and all those around us as represented by the Web of Wyrd.

Lyrics: Ships on Vigor of the waves are skimming, Barren summits to the Verdant Plains, each horizon is a new beginning, rise and reign. Far from the Fjords and the ice cold currents, Ravens soar over new frontiers, songs and sagas of a fate determined, Shields and Spears. Vows of favour or the thrill of plunder, pull together for the clan and kin, clank of hammers and the crash of thunder, pound within. OH-HO-OH! The echoes of eternity! OH-HO-OH! Valhalla calling me! OH-HO-OH! To pluck the strings of destiny! OH-HO-OH! Valhalla calling me, Valhalla calling me. Sails of swaying on the crimson rivers, blood and glory in the fighting fields, shields a' shatter into splintered timbers, Iron and steel. Fires are rising and the bells are ringing, glory take us into Odin's halls, golden glimmer and the sound of singing, Asgard's Call. OH-HO-OH! The echoes of eternity! OH-HO-OH! Valhalla calling me! OH-HO-OH! To pluck the strings of destiny! OH-HO-OH! Valhalla calling me, Valhalla calling me. "Wind and the waves will carry me", "Wind and the waves will set me free", "Wind and the waves will carry me", "Wind and the waves will set me free". OH-HO-OH! The echoes of eternity! OH-HO-OH! It's also a matter of timing. The first great cover of a song will often get more traction than an even better version published later, etc. Could be the group was re-doing popular numbers before and this was just their first first. The good thing is that once a group gets some attention, they usually find a loyal audience who will go back and find the rest of their bangers.

Everything about this song is pretty damn amazing, but can we take a moment to appreciate at 2:25 how the visuals of the horn being blown line up with the vocals changing to throat singing? A+ right there

This looks like a trailer to a series. The Raven Twins. Where it is not just one person, but twins seeking out their glory together. Since Odin like like the male, he could be an ancestor. Maybe grandfather or great grandfather. Also, I think video game creators need to give all their games cut scenes and music to Miracle of sound and pay them to make their game trailers.

Theologically it doesn’t work that way buddy. You have to die with a weapon in your hand, even then it isn’t certain, there is still a chance you would go to folkvanger. People say this shit without understanding the religion.
