Miracles aren't necessary for Faith, but they may help some believe. As for miracles, Christians experience a miracle each time the Holy Mysteries are offered, when bread and wine become the Body and Blood of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Thanks Dave, for sharing the Orthodox Faith. I was received into the Orthodox Church (St, John of The Ladder Orthodox Church, Greenville, SC) this last Lazarus Saturday, and got to celebrate Pascha as an Orthodox Christian. I thank God for my journey into the fullness of Christ. God bless you Brother Dave. BTW some of these miracles helped convince me, along with guidance from the Blessed Theotokos.

Christ is Risen! Great video Dave. The Orthodox Church has numerous miracles that unfortunately are not well known. We need to spread the word. One of the big challenges, as you mention in your video, as it is hard for most people in this secular age to even consider miracles. Even many Christians succumb to this sort of thinking. But when you actually research some of these, such as the Hawaiian Icon, the amazing truth is that they are actually a miracle from God.

Christos anesti! It's kind of a two-fold challenge, I think. As your comment section shows, it's not just atheists, but additionally non-Orthodox believers who decry the miracles within the Church. The miracles worked through God, and the intercessions of his saints are many, and span through the centuries, still happening today. In addition to the holy fire, the streaming icons, the countless visitations of saints... (one example, the monks at Mar Saba monastery often see their martyrs and personal saints walking the monastery grounds)...we also have the holy mist of Mount Tabor that appears on the Transfiguration. Our Orthodox faith is a bottomless treasure chest; always something new to discover and learn.

Hi I been a Othodox for 36yrs when I had my son in 1987 we just got home in the second week I had a little icon saint Demetrius in my son's pram I was so tired it was about 3morning .i had he's dummy in one hand had ajar of honey he liked it so it slipped out of my hand it should have dropped on he's head I had are deep breath looked in the pram end up at the end of the pram on the side I had no dought son and I had a miracle that morning thank God I had saint Demetri icon in he's pram .

Glory to God! The God of Isaac, Jacob & Abraham! Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men! Glory to the Uncreated Being.. By Whom everything was created, what a miracle. The oil & fire get created from nothingness! What a miracle! All created things are also a miracle! The Copts & the rest of the Orthodox Church of all backgrounds especially have those myrrh streaming icons. It is the same God, with His uncreated energies, like that of grace. Glory be to Him, who can fathom His omnipotence? if you read psalms you’ll see that king davids prayer is one sided but it won’t hinder you. god always listens and knows what you are thinking , speaking , looking. you have to believe and feel. if you get out of sin , pray , and so on you’ll get the holy spirit. you have to try to live like christ that is very very hard but not impossible. (In georgia we had some saints one we had in 20 century who was doing miracles by name of jesus. he is dead but where he is buried people go and pray lots of people healed some had cancer and were near to death. not only. ) believe . when he will help you, you won’t even realize. he is always looking and caring after you. be strong. don’t let the devil win. always be happy . “men is happy when he knows that he prepared good destiny for himself”- aurelius

What is Holy Fire.? I never heard of Holy Fire before. I saw people with a branch on fire and the flame was touching their clothing but didn't catch on fire. Why is thhat like that Dave.?

This is a special time of the Orthodox Faith. A Patriarch of Jerusalem goes into the tomb of Jesus at the Holy Sepulchre .The Holy Fire (Greek Ἃγιον Φῶς, "Holy Light") is described by Orthodox Christians as a miracle that occurs every year at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem on Great Saturday, or Holy Saturday, the day preceding Orthodox Easter. Orthodox tradition holds that the Holy Fire happens annually on the day preceding Orthodox Pascha (Orthodox Easter), in which a blue light emanates within Jesus Christ's tomb (usually rising from the marble slab covering the stone bed believed to be that upon which Jesus' body was placed for burial) now in the Holy Sepulchre, which eventually forms a column containing a form of fire, from which candles are lit, which are then used to light the candles of the clergy and pilgrims in attendance. The fire is also said to spontaneously light other lamps and candles around the church.[1][2] Pilgrims and clergy claim that the Holy Fire does not burn them.[3][4]While the Patriarch is inside the chapel kneeling in front of the stone, there is darkness but far from silence outside. One hears a rather loud mumbling, and the atmosphere is very tense. Don't be afraid of the miracle! It's actually part of our everyday lives! Sometimes a miracle is hidden and sometimes a miracle profoundly declares the glory of God! You just had the opportunity to see with your own eyes how really the bush of Moses was on fire but it wasn't burnt out! Christ is risen! Cheer up!

@Darin Bracy Oh Darin,,,,really? You have no idea and are so unwilling to look at the Apostolic Church, I don't get why you are so fearful of it. If you really believe in Christ, start at the beginning of the Christian Church, the founders, the sees, how the Apostles built Churches, went out and open territories, ordained Bishops, Deacons as Overseers. Search and study, you have a lot to learn, grow, don't just close the Church before the reformation. Please, and then come back and let's discuss ok?
