Legacy is Magic: The Gathering's most powerful format. What was the best Legacy deck ever? On this channel, we made our community vote for one deck to represent each year since 2004, recruited 21 Legacy Experts to play a 7-round tournament, and now we bring you each match of the Top 8. Thoralf is playing Carl in best-of-5 games of paper magic gameplay and either Terminus or Tabernacle of Pendrell Vale could be knocked out of the tournament. This match will crown one Grand Champion.

I'm really amazed at how Carl played him. I usually considered him to be the weakest of the players on the cardmarket team. Well, I must change my mind. He played lands through this tournament EXCELLENTLY, with many unintuitive plays. Kudos to you

Love the difference between Thoralf's "cards we pulled out of the folders" Miracles list, and Carl's "clearly just brought it from home", black bordered duals, altered moxes, heavily foiled personal lands deck.

@jacobstormann4452
@jacobstormann4452 7 сағат бұрын
There’s a lot more variety in Vintage than you’d expect. The current meta consists of U/B/x Lurrus (a creature/spell based control deck), Dredge (graveyard based combo), Jewel Shops, (Artifact combo), Mono-White Initiative (Creature based aggro), Underworld Breach (in countless combo and control configurations), Oath and Tell (a big creature combo deck), Doomsday (spell based combo), Sultai (creature based midrange), Squeevine (a manaless control deck, yes really), Traditional Shops (artifact based prison/aggro), all kinds of Lurrus Deathrite Shaman decks (3-4c creature based midrange), various Tinker decks (artifact/spell based combo/control), as well as a few brews. Also Vintage is a lot more interactive than you’d imagine. Force of Will/Negation/Vigor, Wasteland/Strip Mine, Spell Pierce, Flusterstorm, Null Rod/Collector Ouphe, Pyroblast, Lavinia, Swords to Plowshares, Leyline of the Void, Tabernacle, and more, all go a long way towards keeping all-in combo in check. Ironically, the presence of powerful combo and Stax options actually encourages Vintage decks to interact with the opponent, as ignoring your opponent is just asking to die/get locked out of the game. Vintage is a cool format, and one of these tournaments for Vintage would be pretty sweet.

This was a great series! Fun to watch, definitely enjoyable to see how it played out. Definitely was a throw to not cast a choke immediately though. Sure, it doesn't COMPLETELY tap Thoralf out, but it still severely hampers him. Playing the choke immediately stops Jace from coming down for at least several turns, and then the reclaimer is uncontested. Worst case, that means yet another marit lage a couple turns later, which would almost certainly be uncontested. Waiting also gives Thoralf the ability to draw into force.

This was perfect really. Always root for Carl but this lands deck is so oppressive I was actually on Thoralf's side this time. Proud to say I was here when u had 10k subs. I always share ur videos with my friends here in Brazil. Keep up the great job and more crazy shit like judge Tower please, we love that
