I spent two months based in Lima traveling all around Peru. I think if you’re staying there long term barranco is the way to go. It’s a lot more laid back than miraflores and just as safe. I think the views from the cliffs there are better and the cafes and art galleries are way more abundant and authentic. I loved every second of my life there.

I am so proud of being peruvian. Thank you for your kind words. I recommend you another part of Lima, the port of El Callao. Beautiful sights at La Punta beach and district as well as excellent food. The Navy museum and the spanish fortress el Fuerte del Real Felipe are just awesome, and even you can explore a submarine of the 50s from inside, the Abtao submarine, now converted in a dinamic museum. I hope everyone will enjoy visiting Lima, you'll be very welcome.

_Hello, great video about Miraflores, thanks. The Pacific Ocean in front of Peru has cold waters. On the same latitude in Brazil warmer waters. This cold ocean is due to Humboldt Current or Peruvian Current , what is a very huge amount of water , joining the sizes of Colombia + Venezuela all together. This changes the climate making it cloudy but at the same time, Peru having the richest ocean in the World, no exaggeration involved. From anchoveta is obtained fish meal what is the main ingredient of recipes for poultry, trout fish, shrimp, etc. The cold waters go from South to North bringing an astonishing , unimaginable amount of Plankton. This is the reason why Ceviche was born in Peru and where was found the first fish-net in Americas in Caral 5k years ago. Thanks again for your kind words about Miraflores_

Great video. As an American living in Miraflores the past ten years, I have grown to love this community despite being more a of a “country boy” from Virginia. One recommendation would be to get your pronunciations correct as the word “Malecón” is Ma-lay-cone with the strong accent on the last syllable. Also the rocks on the beach are made smooth from being washed down out of the mountains. All of the rocks that are further inland in the soil are equally smooth and rounded. You see this in all of the many construction zones where underground parking garages are being dug out for new apartment buildings. Finally, the word for lighthouse is pronounced far-o, not with the long “a” as in the word pharaoh. I get it, Spanish is different, but it would be worth you time to pronounce the few Spanish words in the video correctly. Still an excellent video sir, happy travels.
@oldaloneandfarfromhome6 ай бұрын
Thanks for the kind words! I acknowledge that my pronunciation can be weak. It's something with which I struggle and I try to get better. It's difficult for me, when I have to pronounce words that I haven't heard a native speaker say. I appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment!

Great content. Thank you for promoting my country. If you allow me to give you some advice as a photographer and videographer: Your shots are too static. I think the places would look better if your shots included horizontal pans and vertical tilts. That would make the video much more dynamic and the context in which each place is located would be better understood.
