I would have liked to have seen how the connection to the existing guest house was handled. It seems to have been carefully excluded from all the photos in the video. I’m assuming it’s not made of non-combustible materials, so it would be interesting to see how the transition was made both in terms of form and materials. The new structure is beautifully designed, detailed, and executed.

How did you meet code for energy efficiency? The walls appear to be solid concrete with no insulation.

One of the architect designs at the end @7:11 shows a cross-section of the concrete walls as having a core of 4" rigid foam insulation.
