I went with the QI, too. I hadn't flown my Heartseeker since getting my F7A mk2, and with my earlier Hornet to Cutty Steel $5 CCU, it was only another $5 to upgrade. Happy with it so far. Looking forward to seeing Pyro. Bloom is looking to be the favourite so far, it's looking gorgeous in the vids I've seen.

I think with engineering coming that the Vanguard has value in being a crewed ship. The turret gunner can handle engineering issues. Also, a manned turret helps to negate some lack in maneuverability. Bloom looks beautiful.

Bloom is a fine place to break in a new ship it seems. I got the original flavor Guardian instead of the extra crispy Qi. Not just because I already own a Mantis and Zeus MR, but I suspect the Qi will eventually be nerfed by CIG harder than the base model.

The idea of a performance brand giving up said performance to include a living space seems a little incongruous to me... but I guess it does fill a market niche. The QI doesn't give up very much in exchange for the extra functionality (although power management might be an issue). It will fit in the hangar of a Polaris as well (although I think a medium or light fighter would be a better call there). Bloom is pretty... looks far more hospitable than anywhere in Pyro was ever supposed to be ;)

Feels like a rule of cool ship. The QI has its obvious piece, but the base is just cool. Feels a little underpowered. Glaive has 2xS5 and 2xs1. Vanguard has more DPS and ability to bring a partner. Needs to be a bit more maneuverable at least to directly compete with Vanguard as the game stands now. It is cool though, I bought it. I’m a sucker for cool things.

I'm worried it will get nerfed, but was hoping for a dedicated pulse bay to be honest - some synergy with another Mirai vehicle. It could really Bloom with that added functionality.

I've seen people tractor a Pulse on and off but it is clumsy. If they gave the base model some way to store a pulse where the QI device is it would make an interesting choice. One unintended synergy is that if you put a Guardian in a hangar bay it looks like you can put a Fury between its arms.

One penalty ATM (which is a thorn in all ships in this tech demo) is the 26k auec (or 52k for full replenish) price tag to replenish 8 of the 16 Ignite II's. An hour in the cockpit & I think it is a good upgrade from the Titan (if you are willing to fit the cash price) at this point with the small compromise of letting the 8 scu storage go. Temporary downside to this exercise is I had to melt my Titan & Zeus for the Guardian as there is no way in hell I am throwing good money after bad while chris is f*ck*ng up an awesome game. I will probably switch back to my original setup after 100 hours in the cockpit of the Guardian.

Bloom tie fighter test drive looks like fun. Mr Ray do you have any balancing concerns for these high firepower small ships vs large multicrew ships? My concern is for allowing 1 player to kill 2, 3, 4+ players, especially with this games current multicrew logistics penalties.

People keep bringing up the Vanguard as a competitor, but given the size I'd say the Banu Defender is just as close, yet that one barely gets a mention. In terms of role for a solo player there's also the 325a to keep in mind as a much cheaper option. But whatever. I can't see myself scouting Bloom in in a Guardian any time soon. It looks like the Live Preview is lining people up for yet another 100GB to download. I have the room, but I think I might wait to avoid the two parallel installs.

It's a shame there was all that water spray on the canopy when skipping across lakes on Bloom, both because it hampers the visuals and because it really shouldn't be on the front of the ship when flying fast. Yes, the front maneuvering thrusters might kick up some spray, but you seem to be flying fast enough for that spray to be behind the ship.

not completely sure of the aerodynamics but the arms are kicking up spray ahead of the bubble and any blunt subsonic element would tend to push a pressure wave ahead of it.

I've been to Bloom once, got attacked by a Scorpius and then a Zeus trying to take advantage of my damaged C1. I killed them both. But my ship was in rough shape by the end =D that was the end of my Bloom visit. Definitely tempted to pick this guy up.

Not TOO interesting that they found an Unfilled Niche. I have complained for YEARS that there has been no alternative to the Vanguard: a fighter with bed and S2 QT drive. we may have dozens of S1 fighters, and we even have a couple of S2 fighters. but without beds, they were almost useless as cargo escorts until CIG announced you didn't need beds to bedlog anymore. but yes, decent fighters with beds are sorely lacking. we could fit another 5 or 6 fighters into this niche, but at least we FINALLY have a competitor to the Vanguards with a chance to bloom

Interdiction seems incorrect. The QI has no snare to interdict anyone. It has a quantum dampener only. Too bad they did not give it a EMP. Bloom is a beautiful rock in such an "inhospitable" solar system.
