There's nothing fake about Miranda. God bless her. We don't know exactly how she felt when her and Blake broke up. Miranda has found happiness and it shows all over her face. She's young and beautiful and has a husband that is very much in Love with her. When you break up with someone it hearts. She Loves brendan for sure, but that doesn't mean her Love for Blake has died Just because they both moved on. It took me about eight years to get over the pain of the septation of my second husband. She is genuine. I pray she has a little Miranda or Brendon to bond their marriage and not miss out on being a Mother. It's an awesome feeling. I Love her and want her to be happy!!! She really deserves it. For her and her husband to be building a home together, I say she's diffently moved on and having the time of her life. They both are beautiful, happy people. 3 years later, listening to this , and STILL I'm bawling my eyes out. Can't help it. I WISH I still had that house that built me. But.... I'll be damned if the high school across the street from our house MADE my Mom hand over that house and 5 others homes so the DAMN high school could build a DAMN parking lot!!! I grew up in that house. Even went to that DAMN school. My mom WORKED at that DAMN school for 25 years!!! It was heartbreaking to watch bull dozers knocking down the house that built me. FOR a DAMN parking lot. I will be forever grateful to Miranda for LIFE for this song. It brings back some GOOD memories at the very least. I hope that DAMN high school realizes that they broke my mom's heart. She just lost my dad and then my sister, and had open heart surgery all in 3 years, then the house. I can't believe she actually lived till 98 with that broken heart.💔🏡 R.I.P. MOM 💝👑

This song struck a nerve with me. The first time I ever heard it was on the radio as I was driving home from selling my parent's place after their deaths. It was the house I was raised in. I lived there from the age of 5 until I first married at 23. Years later my wife made a picture collage of my parents at the house and included the lyrics to this song. I'll freely admit that I cried when I saw it.

😭😭😭 I Get emotional EVERY TIME I HEAR HTBM. IT takes me back to the horrible people who take people's houses through Eminent Domeign. THATS what happened to the House That Built ME. "They" kicked out my mom ( who lived there over 50 yrs) and 5 others on a simple little street just to build a DAMN parking lot, that nobody uses. YUP, gave her half of what the house was worth, she played hell moving out, was totally Devastated, and the family has NO MORE HOME THAT BUILT US. It's ALL buried in the "basement". Mom was 75 when that shit happened, she lived till 98. So for 23 years, she mourned all the memories we had in that HOUSE. I mourn it EVERYDAY. I don't live in that town anymore. IT hurts like HELL, when I go HOME to visit family and can't go back to "The HOUSE That Built ME. 💔 I ABSOLUTELY HATE the MORONS who do this to people. I call them "Life Destroyers". I HAD that "little back bedroom, where I learned how to play guitar" (and an accordion, 😄 that my dad and I made a deal on if I learn to play the squeeze box, I could learn that guitar ❤💕) YUP, a LOT of memories are buried in that HOUSE. SOOO, I cry with MIRANDA Every TIME I hear " HTB ME😢😭 " 🏡🏋️‍♀️👨‍👩‍👧 I Love you Miranda, thanks for putting MY story in a song! 💝🎼🎵🎶🎸🎤
