Loneliness drives us to do things we usually wouldn't. Anything to have arms around us, and a safe place to land, no matter how brief it may be... just to feel "alive" again. Even though it might leave us with no life left. Anything to feel loved once again and remove the sting of loneliness and rejection. Dear God save us in spite of ourselves. Gracias, Amen.

I see a wonderful, powerful video here. I have been going through a divorce with a highly abusive man. After the split, I was a lot like the woman in this video. I had the same vice. I wanted to run to other towns where nobody knew me. Everywhere I went it was the same. Wake up, grab my shoes, and get going...proud of it? No. Learn from it? Yes. I was abused. I took out my frustrations in ways that other survivors have for years. Many tests later and several counseling sessions got me back on track. I've finally learned who I am and "how I got here."

I tell you what...this man is highly influential in the county. He took me all the way to trial. My 5 year old baby is having to go to him every other week, because the system failed her. It came out in trial that the investigations were incomplete and/or mishandled. There was evidence of physical abuse on my baby after I got her back from his house. Guess what was done? Nothing. The judge couldn't rule on custody due to the amount of evidence he was presented with. But, they still let her go. I'm not stopping until she is taken care of by someone that will not hurt her. I don't drink, smoke, nothing...I have to take medication for depression and PTSD, but that's normal. I was on FMLA leave for so much stress. MY BP was 150/110 and pulse 140. I was having gallbladder pains and breaking out in rashes. Trial was horrific, but my story would not have been told without it. I told the good, the bad, and the ugly. He, of course, told lies! He got caught in many. So, yes...abuse is Satan and the Devil has too many advocates out there.

Not easy to be honest about ones flaws, failures, & weaknesses. I applaud Miranda for sharing these feelings, ones that we all struggle with. The music video opens on the video's protagonist in the wreckage of an upturned car, representing another crash in the road of her tumultuous life. She decides to once again pick up the pieces and venture forward even though she is all alone (or, perhaps, because of it). The cold, uneasy atmosphere alerts that this is probably not the first time our protagonist has found herself in this peculiar situation. Coming into a new town - which she wears "like a leather jacket" - our protagonist is greeted with a host of warning signs: empty streets, a newspaper with the screaming headline "CHAOS!", a lone buzzard in the air. She chooses to trudge on anyway just as she has done countless times before and will surely do again. Interestingly, it is a chance meeting with two young girls blowing bubbles on a sidewalk that gives our protagonist the most pause as she remembers she was once just like them: young, naive, full of hope at the wonderment of life's simple pleasures. In the end, however, it is only the vices of smoking and drinking that can satisfy our hollowed protagonist before she soon finds herself once again stuck at the crossroads of life, waiting for the next ride that will carry her down whichever road her vices decide to push her along next.

This song is so powerful. It some ways it really relates to my life. I have lived all over the country (not by choice). My mother would find a new man and boom we were gone again. New faces, new school, new friends. So i really understand this. If my daughter remembers any singer or band i listen to i hope she will remember that this chick has a song that fits exactly. And that theres real meaning in her music not just words to sell records

@Miranda Lambert no unfortunately not. We work alot. And i just listen to music all day at work. And literally when i heard this song for the first time i had it on repeat all day. You are just a strong influence for women all over the world. You can actually relate to some many different ages of people and some that have really had it hard and its like u embrace that and sing the perfect song. Keep up the hard work!!!!!

This song resonates I have been running my whole life from all my problems & I can just relate, the numbing of the pain is temporary usually liquor & people, until I find myself off to do it all over again after I swear I wouldn’t but deep down knowing I’ll be gone to do it again, the lyrics hit. Just another vice…there’s always that one pain that gets you, hard to cover up.

I had never been a huge fan of any artist.... I always liked different songs by different singers.. but I am rooting for Miranda and have become a HUGE fan of her... I think this song is so powerful... and expressive in so many ways.. We all go through life.. we all mistakes and have heartbreaks... I love how SHE stands in the middle of the crossroad after making her way through... I hope she was symbolically saying at the end that God has the wheel and she will always be OKAY!

I LOVE THIS SONG!! All we know for sure is this. Miranda and Blake have always tried to never spend more than two weeks apart. He ended up spending a lot of time in CA. He became a Mr. Hollywood. She flew there many times to be with him. He did not put in the effort to do the same for her. I have went back and watched season 7 of "THE VOICE" and Blake and Gwen were smitten with each other before divorce of either was even on the radar. Miranda was lonely! I'll end with this quote from Kahlil Gibran. "Of the good in you I can speak, but not of the evil. For what is evil but good tortured by its own hunger and thirst? Verily when good is hungry it seeks food even in dark caves, and when it thirsts it drinks even of dead waters."

In the beginning she shows her left hand a few times. What is the yellow thing she is putting in her purse? Is it a gun? Miranda's favorite color is pink. Gwen's favorite color is pink AND yellow. Miranda walks by two crosses on the side of the road. One of them has a yellow lei on it. I think the one earRING she takes off means something too.

I may be wrong but it looks like she got out of the back seat just like she got in it at the end. The car is symbolic. She's just headed to her next tragedy and she doesn't see that its something she can control. Instead of making a decision on what road to take the car shows up to "save her" from having to decide. Instead of making a change she just gets back in the "same car"...
