I like how this song is less about the actual breakup and more about the tendency of our older parents to coach us into suppressing our emotions like they were taught to do.

Yeah. This song, for me, is about the fact that it has been done this and that way in the past. I put my crazy out for the neighbours to see. No reason to care about the neighbors.

So true! Here are some of my mother's very Mississippi Southern rules, 1. Don't leave your bedroom without your "face" done 2. Cry in your room, in public put a smile of your face 3. Don't embarrass the family. One of the common phrases among my friends "Honey, you might want to tuck that back in; your crazy is showing." Is it any wonder many Southern women drink bourbon and are crack shots?

Love Miranda. Especially this video with her OTT luxury sets and costumes. I came from a softer generation where appearances were significant, like the Kennedys when Camelot went down in flames. I am happy to see more acceptance of diversity of ALL kinds. BUT I do believe it is still important to put your best foot forward! 😎 👑

Miranda Lambert was releasing records before her and Blake got married. She released her Kerosene album in 2005. She didn't marry Blake until 2009. They were dating, but I think she made a name for herself, not to mention she made her own solo albums and then formed Pistol Annie's while still carrying herself as a solo artist.

As a warning for all the women who have parents like this, don't let them make you suppress your feelings; as someone with experience in this, I completely lost my shit when it all came to the surface. Give them the ultimatum that it's either now, or when it becomes so much that you really make them look bad.

Been there, done that. My mother is exactly like the one in the song: except it isn't how _I_ look, it's how I make _her_ look. Anything I do or feel reflects badly on her. I lost my crap once after repressing it for so long and it didn't end well. She still hasn't changed, and I don't think she ever will. I relate to these lyrics so hard.

I actually kind of found it annoying. She uses the same expressions too much. Watch how many times she either does the quick eyebrow raise or rolls her eyes. I count 7 in the first 45 seconds. I know you were exaggerating, but it bothered me since the first time I saw it.

Forget xm really 7 eye rolls in the first 45 seconds. Can you imagine spending one minute with this tool. It is one of the better videos made in the last 10 years. It actually stuck to what the song was all about and Miranda is so cute. Even when she got a little too curvey she was still hot. Hope she has a fun life with her NY copper husband.

Can we just talk about the "I wish I could be just a little less dramatic, like a Kennedy when Camelot went down in flames." Because bro, Jackie Kennedy watched her husband get his brains blown out and she just hopped on Air Force one and stood next to Johnson when he swore in with JFK's blood all up on her dress with such dignity, for real. There's a grade A woman right there. If you're gonna have a role model, let it be Jackie Kennedy.

+mj carollson If you're talking about how Jackie Kennedy behaved in the immediate wake of her husband's assassination, that was probably the effects of shock. I have been in a shooting where eight people were killed and four were wounded. One of the dead was my 15-year-old son; one of the wounded was the fiancé of my middle son. Jackie's behavior that day seems normal in light of what I have experienced personally and seen in others. I'm not claiming that she wasn't actually a psychopath or sociopath, but you can't use one isolated, public display after extraordinary circumstances as proof.

I was raised to get a grip, fix your make-up, keep it together even when you fall apart. Men don't like a bunch of drama. It is not attractive. LOVE THIS VIDEO!!!

Nope, they like sports dramas. Same thing, in my opinion.😂

One of my favorite songs by Miranda! I normally don't listen to country music, but I love listening to her!

Assuming that house exists in Oklahoma or Texas not too bad. About the size of mine and I paid under 200,000 for it... Now that bougie ass interior (THAT I FREAKING LOVEEEE) probably cost a nice little fortune... but... GOALS!

Miranda is literally the only modern country artist I listen to. I listen to Jolene sometimes and a few Johnny Cash songs and that’s it as far as county music of any kind, except for Miranda Lambert. She has such a raw emotional power to her singing and her lyrics are so brutally honest. When I listen to her songs I feel that rebellious spirit that I think country music was originally supposed to have. Also the set design, costumes and makeup, and cinematography in this video are absolutely amazing. Those shots in the bathtub are breathtaking.

I still remember when I was under 10, I used to be obsessed with Miranda lambert’s songs… looking back I can see why I was obsessed, they’re like a mix of country and a bit of rock
