What Persephone Books do is truly a labour of love, so glad they are celebrating their 25th anniversary. I'm not able to go to Bath, but thanks to your video I've decided to celebrate by picking up my copy of 'Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day'. Maybe I'll even have a 1930s cocktail with my celebratory reading!

If you enjoyed “English Climate: Wartime Stories” I highly recommend “Goodnight Mrs. Craven” by Molly Panter-Downes. I’ve read both and actually enjoyed Mrs Craven more…wonderful letters written for the New Yorker by Panter-Downes during WWII from London. A real slice of life. Read this during the first COVID lockdown and so much was still relatable and comforting. Great list Miranda!

Such a good introduction to your favourite Persephone books. I'm always amazed how good you are at remembering the plots of so many titles! Thank you for introducing me to Persephone Books, I have a small collection but it is growing when I find one. I was watching the festival on their Instagram site, and I was a bit disappointed, that we didn't get to hear any of the talks. Just a tiny bit. Then after the festival I received my newsletter and there was note about recordings for the next month. I finally got my wish and I was able to hear a good percentage of the talks, I still have two to go. I just received my order of The Homemaker and William, an Englishman is on the way to me. I am very excited to read them and add them to my small loved collection of Persephone Books.
