So delighted to see ‘Lanterns Across the Snow’ recommended too. If you haven’t read Mollie Harris’s ‘A Kind of Magic’, there’s a wonderful evocation of a childhood Christmas in the Cotswolds.

The USPS is so slow here in America. I ordered a few of your Christmas recommendations from older videos a couple weeks ago and I still do not have the books. Next year, I will have to start a lot earlier in my purchasing. I have a whole steno notebook of all your recommendations! I also love the wind in the willows and got a copy of the willows at Christmas last year which I can definitely recommend. I also looked up Chris Dunn's calendar you mentioned last year and discovered he is an illustrator from Keighley just up the road from where I live. His wind in the willows calendar is on sale this year so I will be requesting it for Christmas! The illustrations are fantastic xx

My favourite rereads for the time of year always include Tied Up in Tinsel by Ngaio Marsh, Envious Casca ( republished as A Christmas Party) by Georgette Heyer and two by Canadian author Charlotte McLeod Rest You Merry and Murder Goes Mumming. Hi Miranda. I visited Lyme Park and house about 18 years ago it was very beautiful, well worth a visit. I wondered if you knew that it is also the location they used for the exterior of Pemberly in the BBC (Colin Firth) Pride and Prejudice and where he emerged from the Lake in his wet shirt!!!
