Apart from the outward meaning of a flea, I can't tell if there is a deeper meaning. Having said that, I have been listening to this song for over 25 years, and it is always fresh. Like you, I think there is a deeper meaning.

More than an innuendo, remember it's a naughty flea, going for the kill... and its choice is Brigitte Bardot, sex symbol back in the days.
