Another reason I have stopped listening to the two classical music radio stations in my area, KUSC and KMZT. They repeat the same old warhorses over and over again. Something fresh and exciting like this piece is unknown to them. All my classical music time is now spent on You Tube.

Unfortunately this is so true for most of the "official" classical local stations. After a while it becomes unlistenable. Music loaded by Pau NG as an example is so refreshing!

You should try suffering Classic FM these days. Unless it is Rachmaninov, RVW or Beethoven’s 6th, forget it. Very sad when an established station doesn’t have a slot to introduce us to different music once a week.

Even though Stalder only lived until 1765, the style here sounds early classical. Somewhat similar to J C Bach but maybe a bit earlier. Very beautiful and emotive music.

I agree that it sounds like the style is classical from the last quarter of the 18th century. Certainly does not sound baroque in the least. I guess it is early classical. The classical style did start earlier then most people realize. It had a very large overlap with baroque.
