The footfalls in this game are so damn satisfying. It's the perfect combination of the thud of an impact with the squeak of shoes on smooth floors.

I did not care as much for the game however the gameplay was great. The weight and animations to the combat in particular were super satisfying and felt awesome

Everytime I see the architecture of the game world in Catalyst, I'm always surprised by the fact that it looks more Cyberpunk-like than 2077 does. The lighting, the ambiance, the amount of reflections and the way the buildings look, it nails the cyberpunk aesthetic. Sometimes, too well.

Bcs mirrors edge catalyst looks like "modern" cyberpunk setting and Cp2077 is more like retro cyberpunk.

Bc while the visual design and the environments are godlike, the gameplay and plot is one of the most boring ones ever. Open world structure becomes stale after 2hrs of play time and all it does is annoy the player by making him traverse the same places tens of times over and over. Simply put its just not fun. I am a fan of the first game though, it's a masterpiece. I also prefer the aggressive and hard hitting soundtrack of the first game during fights and chases. Not a fan of the futuristic time either. The first game felt more grounded and impactful because it was set in a world that looks like something we can see outside our windows almost. The last few points I made are subjective, yes, but repetitive gameplay, poor plo, character building and boring open world design are the main problems of this potentially great game.

imo the combat was a huge let down. the AIs sucked, and not only that, you were pretty much immortal. that made it so the combat was insanely cool when it wasn't combat, like situations where enemies would just stand there waiting for you to fall down on them from 30 meters above, now that's fun, but when enemies were in the way or you were in a flat room forced to fight that's when it got bad

comparing this to Dying Light 1 and 2. I feel like you have to be way more careful in this game with ur movement. In DL u can save urself more easily but in this game 1 slip up just kills u almost always. I always die cuz I go too fast and try to take some alternative route that the game doesn't allow. Both games are really fun

First person Parkour is the identity of Mirrors Edge. Its suppose to favor the immersion and shakey First person view as a unique experience. Making it 3rd person would make it look like another platformer, even with amazing animations and the design of the the city of Glass would be undermined
