And after listening to some random ambient themes from Catalyst, I considered myself proven right. But your mix made me realize, that I just didn't listen to the right stuff. This is a really good game. The use of colours, atmosphere, and music is otherworldly. It feels nostalgic yet lonely, like the backrooms but without the horror. There's just something magical about it.

Listening to MEC soundtrack while taking a slow stroll around the city at night, watching the cityscape with its low nocturnal activity, the odd car driving by with its headlights on, and the urban architecture as the backdrop takes you to another place, it's a surreal journey really.

Catalyst was a good mirrors edge game. EA is bad but i see and feel a good product when there is one. Some flaws like every game has. But i would have taken catalyst 2 any day over three or four battlefields that have come after that. More Solar fields would be better than year after year battlefields that stay the same and have the same player counts.

BF1 was a true masterpiece, my favourite FPS of all time. But I agree that BFV and BF2042 could've instead been a continuation of the mirrors edge saga. DICE is awesome. EA is terrible.

Back when this album was released, I remember loving how varied and extensive it was, but wishing the adrenaline-inducing beats were separate tracks, so I could create a chill playlist. I've been playing the game recently and I'm still captivated by how great it feels, the sense of loneliness but the sense of joy in that loneliness in it... Running through all these obstacles with a sense of freedom that was only meant for you as you get from one place to another. This game is great for me, as a person who did free running in my earlier years it feels like heaven. There's no game that'll go toe to toe with this, the closest is dying light but nowhere near.

MEC really saddens me. It's such a disappointment after waiting so many years for a sequel to the original ME and finally playing it last year. All those "modern EA" decisions in the gameplay to pad out play time and take away from the original to make you think you're getting more. The kinda subpar story too (not that the original ME story was fantastic either). Yet I can never bring myself to fully dislike because despite there being left a lot to be desired, there's still so much passion and love and care put into other areas that I can't ignore. This music, the aesthetic, how Faith feels to control, the extra maneuverability, so many parts of the game take me back to when I played the original ME as a kid. There's lots of things I consider to be as good as if not better than the original. And it's such a gorgeous game to look at. Both games really do have a perfect style. The character models will age for sure, but man. The environments are just perfect and timeless MEC is nowhere near a perfect game, but what it does well, it REALLY does well, including the music

Catalyst OST does have some Mirror's Edge vibes in some tracks, but overall it sounds very generic. However, the gameplay was really nice, huge improvement over the original, if you disregard some mundane tasks. Not very happy with the way they rebooted the main story though, but oh well, I guess creative writers can't be everywhere.

ME shouldn't be a triple A title in my opinion. Catalyst is what happens when you take a simple game premise and try to make it mainstream. Let the devs have a modest budget and make a tight game that focuses on what the actual fanbase likes: the running and atmosphere! No forced combat, cringe characters and padding. Just build upon the first game by rewarding exploration and let Solar Fields do his thing.

The game has the most horrendous timing to be release. EA's bullsh1t still lingering in the air, The game has been lambast so hard on very quetionable game design and not to mentionall the nitpicking and what's not...............Still, This and the original Mirror's Edge is what reeling me back to many good memory and many aspiring moments. Mirro's edge is that one of a few games that you are going back to just to breathing in the feeling and moment just for one more time.
