It is more impressive indeed, but to outright call overcoming one's nature "better" than naturally being good is somewhat silly in my eyes. I will see them both on equal greatness, but I am more impressed and will believe the one that overcame their original nature to be more hardworking and determined. But that in of itself is an assumption based off of lacking information, and my foolish emotional mind. Both could be just as hard working, just as determined and passionate. Just because one had to work towards that end, doesn't make them more good
@imlivinlikelarry66724 жыл бұрын
@@joshuagoodman6359 I disagree. Just because one fights against their original bad nature doesn't mean that the end product is definitely any better. They may have the experience of being bad, and of fighting against that, but that does not necessarily translate to being outright superior. More wise in those areas are a given, but wisdom doesn't only come from one's own experience, as it can come from the experiences of others, through empathy and understanding. And humility in this case doesn't come from turning good, it comes from growth, which both the good and bad people can experience equally. Wisdom and humility are not the only traits that make up whether someone is better. Overwriting ones own nature is in the same vein as improving oneself, which good natured people would strive for. Both parties can attain wisdom and humility on the same level, it all depends on the individual. It comes back to being more impressive to fight against a bad past self, but not better. At the end of it, it is silly to look at such a complicated subject portrayed in a shallow way and ask for a general answer of black or white, better or worse. What makes up a person is an immeasurable amount of things, and one different experience doesn't create the ability to accurately judge. This is just what I think though

“You’re not looking so good. Are you alright?” Never figured out what it was. Maybe the tens of thousands of miles I’ve walked with hundreds of kilograms of dragon bones and steel armpit stripped from my enemies cold bodies? Maybe my vampirism or the fact that my character hasn’t slept for 14 years? Maybe the fact that I’ve chugged so many bottles of minor healing or ate every ingredient I’ve ever collected for the past 7 hours? Maybe it’s that I’ve eaten about 100 kilos of raw meat that I stole from every kitchen and every store room in all of Tamriel? Maybe it’s the poison from the 40 thousand frostbite spiders or the bone chilling cold of hundreds of ice wraiths. Could it be that I’ve been sent to the moon by a giant 10000 times? Or that I’ve been crushed and smashed by hundreds of mammoths and ice trolls. Could be the wounds from killing the king of dragons? Slaying a dragonborn? Defeating the leader of the vampires or collecting every dark prince’s legendary mask? Possibly the millions of hours spent sitting in one position just to get into a general store. Or the diseases from every sleeved I’ve slain or the ratway sewers I’ve swam in. Or it could just be that they’re trying to sell me their potions.

Then why not look for a nice home, where you can undress, drop your sword, have a nice dinner and a good night of sleep? You totally deserve it after all you have been going through. @Harris Witherden As many as people saying "kids these days". People were saying that shit about the original Xbox/Playstation, the N64, Atari, board games, stick hoop and, I presume, cavemen banging rocks together. Fucking *millions* of people, because between seventy-five and eighty percent of the population can't comprehend the nature of time or art; that what happens tomorrow is never going to be what happened yesterday, and it's allowed to be different. No matter the generation, no matter the time, there will always be bad things. Shitty corporations taking advantage of stupid trends, copycats/clones, and hollow, worthless hunks of crap littering any kind of media you can point to. For example, reality TV shows cloud our vision of amazing shows like Legion or Happy, but they're still there. There will also always be storytellers doing whatever they can to leave their mark on their art, move people to tears with joy, pain, or sheer desire to live in the worlds they create, innovate in their field, and make the world a brighter, more colorful place. And those storytellers will be lumped in with the crap because it's not the "golden age" anymore. Also, Skyrim's on the current gens (Xbox One, PS4, etc.) and will most likely be on the next gen platforms too because it's an all-time classic, so y'all need to chill. It's not a person that's dead and never coming back. It's not a singer who had an overdose and will only be preserved through recordings. Not only can you most likely shut off this video and play the game on whatever system you have right now, but there are still new people finding it (the average ten year-old can quote a passing remark from a Whiterun guard), and the people who grew up playing it will introduce it to their kids. Like these people in the comment section, because if there's anyone who literally can't shut the fuck up about how great Skyrim is, it's people who listen to the music to put them to sleep or to help them focus. Like I should be doing, because this novel's not going to write itself, and it's four in the morning. Here I am, yelling at random strangers about Skyrim instead of nurturing my poor neglected characters. Neglected because I've been yelling about Skyrim instead of writing. This shit's not dead.

In your dreams I hope. Ever stuck arrows in a mix mashed fabric dragon with Talion's bow? Actually I wonder how many people have done shooting in their dreams, because its very satisfying. Bet plenty have shot guns, but how many with bow and arrow? The one other time I dreamed of archery was a dream where I was this man in a time/world-hopping agency. It was sort of mixed in consistency, with the usual video-game real-life mix mash but a pretty cool one nonetheless, I think it was Bioshock Infinite inspired. This example was much more dreaded however... I met myself, and did not like what I saw. This version had gone dark and was actively plotting against the agency, my comrades. A dark trench coat rather complimented the icy demeanor. Though admittedly said friends tended to keep me restrained, stopping me from visiting the timeline instance with my wife, probably for a good reason, now I think back, shenanigans. My daughter was disinterestedly distant, but we 'played' a card game or two. There was this cthulhu influence from the echos/shadow beings thing going on. In the pathways between, I stared down below and flinched.

I was not strong enough or clever enough to overcome him, or our fate. Maybe we should have ran from the start, too late. Before long his second in command assassinated my friends one by one with an elegant black bow while they chased us, all the while we stood there watching, helpless... We were was attempting to figure her out before this. Perhaps get a wrench into this shadow agency. I think she was mocking me, with that arrogant smirk of hers. At our defiance. The rest of it... that other self had found him, I'd rather not speak of the fate of those consumed by the void.

I'm sorry but was anyone else REALLY attracted to Veezara? I mean, every time I played the game (which must be around 25 times by now) I went the dark brotherhood path just to see him alive again. When I first played, I learned how to marry before I got to the dark brotherhood. When I got to the dark brotherhood, I was immediately attracted to Veezara. Maybe download some game changing mods, give it a shot with random start mod, and try to RP your way in the game by placing some limits on your character (for example, you can't wield shields no matter what, or don't buy a horse and walk everywhere). And I had Minecraft, modern warfare 3. On a ski trip one of my half brothers that I rarely see brought his ps3 and played Skyrim. As soon as that trip was over I told my mom about it. She bought it for me. My first character was named... I forgot All I remember was I was scared, I hated the skeletons and the spiders and everything. But one thing for sure was.. I stoped playing for 7 months. I matured a little bit and finnaly ventured back in. I completed the quest and had the most fun I ever had in a video game. I never completed the main quest line until I was 14. Now that I’m 16 I’ve come back to obliterate the skeletons that made me fear. By the way I have full dragon body army. Lol.

I never played this game actually. The memories and knowledge I have of this game are from the countless hours watching my older brother playing it. I remember when I was little, I’d sit with my brother and watch him play. He told me to close my eyes at Helgen, watch when the dragon came to save the day. I watched every time he killed a dragon. I begged for him to go to the Throat of the World because it was such a cool place. I wanted him to fight a giant and a mammoth at the same time. I watched all the time, and at least I had so much fun watching. Now some of my fondest nostalgic memories reside in this game’s atmospheric world, and I cherish it. Someday I want to pick up this game and play it, experience it firsthand. But the only way to do that would be to erase his save file, and possibly an entire part of my life. Nowadays my brother is so busy with his adult life I barely ever see him anymore, let alone watch him play any video games. Life changes with the years, but I still remember the good times and nostalgia with this music. It brings me back to simpler times. Now being the age he was back then, I look back on it even more. Thank you Everness for bringing back those good times with this music, because I don’t know if I’ll ever truly experience the wonder of Skyrim the way I did back then~

To those of you saying this makes you want to re-play Skyrim: the best advice I can give you is to roleplay a brand new character of *your* own fantasy. Something that corresponds to your character and your fantasy wishes. Play it like it's your first time, start reading the quests again, start exploring caves and ruins just because, and ditch fast-travel. I promise you'll like it :) I'm currently playing a Dunmer sorcerer, who sinks further down the dark path to necromancy and vampirism, ignorant of the Civil War or his "destiny" as a Dragonborn, for now. I have picked a small necromancer cave as my home, hiding my work from the prying eyes of guards and wary citizens. The cave is well equipped, with a sacrificial altar, an enchanting table, and an alchemist table. I have been collecting books on necromancy and Dunmer rituals, and keeping them on a shelf to the side of the altar.

Rosen Kostov playing as High Elf as a Conjuring and Restoration mage. And soon to be Arch Mage of College of Winterhold. TBH i like the Bound Sword magic. It's good while I indirectly lvl up my one handed
@t3chn0dr0n37 жыл бұрын
Conjuring + Restoration means you basically have no means of actual combat. The bound sword is pretty bad after, say, 20lvl. Even more so if you're not playing a fighter type. My advice is to either swing towards a spellsword or towards a mage. The way you're playing right now you'll get stuck/frustrated at around 30-40lvl. The summoner type doesn't work when enemies focus you and ignore your atronachs/undead - this forces you to run around like a headless chicken waiting for them to switch targets. I've had fights where all I did was run in circles and heal myself with two followers, an atronach, and an undead chasing my target...

Rosen Kostov yeah i do this. Now iam roleplaying a honorable and glorius and good warrior of the light, something like paladins in wow. I dont use daedric artefacts of evil daedra, only dawnbreaker and azura star. I didnt join Dark brotherhood od thiefe guild. In the past i roleplayed for example a warrior corrupted by evil daedra. I was a vampire killing everyone crossed my path. Other was for example a lich who once was archmage but fallen in battle. Then he raised as lich. Its very fun to roleplay as character with theyr own stories, not just only dragon born.

Yesterday I realized I hadn't played a Stormcloak character in a long, long time, so I decided to do so. Currently playing a big fat bearded nord with shaved head, scars and warpaint on his face. Heavy armor + 2hand. Apply axe to problem until problem solves itself. First thing I did was join the Stormcloaks, but when I took over Whiterun my quest glitched so now I'm kinda stuck... I guess I'll do the main chain until Whiterun fixes itself or I find the commands to fix the quest.

skyrim definitely changed my life. it changed the way how i viewed, how i think, and how i feel about video games. truly my favourite game of all time. i finished skyrim in one month and a week, clocking 12-18 hours a day, as in almost a 100% percent expect for that stones of barenziah quests and those treasure hunting ones that need maps for clues. every time i play a game, i change the controls to skyrim controls because i got too used to it. arriving to each hold for the very first time was amazing. my favourites are solitude, markarth, whiterun, and riften because there was just so much going on. i became a dual-weilding tank who rarely used magic but did love using stealth for less hassle and shits and giggles. went the imperial route and one of the best moments ever was when general tullius gave me dragonplate armor. joined every faction except for the stormcloaks and the vampires. fave would forever be the dark brotherhood because you kill people and get paid. ended up marrying lydia and adopting two children, alesan and sofie. my companion is always serana and i was actually successful in curing her! playing skyrim for the first time felt magical. it was hard fighting off giants and dragons without the proper equipment but i managed until i got all my skills to legendary. i don't think i will ever get into a game as much as i did with skyrim. it will forever hold a place in my heart. bethesda has gone to shit but this game is truly a gem.

@Joe Kittelson we all have our own ways. Don't be racist towards imperials
@BlitzsieLDiscoLSnow5 жыл бұрын
@Joe Kittelson It's a game. And indeed a game with choices that brings out everybody's preferences, but that doesn't mean that you get to degrade someone's way of thinking like this. Everybody experiences the game differently. For you that means siding with the Stormcloaks. For @Scythela that means siding with the Imperials, and for me it was siding with no-one because it made me think about my great-gran's stories of the period between the two world wars. To me it really sucked that there was no way to have the Nords and Imperials align with eachother and drive out the Thalmor. To me, the Stormcloaks feel like nazi's, with their racial purity ("he's a real Nord, he'll come around"), racism towards all other races, and non-human races in particular; the Thalmor feels like the US to me, with their loans and meddling in affairs they don't really understand, having a chokehold on our culture simply because they are better at enforcing it on our own small European countries that are too divided to make a controlled stand against it. But even though the Nords feel like nazi's to me, I'm not calling you one. Because it's just a game. Please respect other people's in-game choices and love them for playing it, instead of hating them for not making the exact same choices as you do.

Skyrim's beauty and its awe inspiring ost made by an amazingly talented orchestra then overlayed 3 times to give this effect of pure blissfulness. It almost makes you want to cry..

Skyrim is one of those games I feel a deep love and nostalgia for. The unfortunate thing is that I can never bring myself to begin playing it again after doing basically all there is to do in it. No amount of mods can fill one of my favorite games with as much wonder and whimsy as when I first played it. Listening to this almost brings me to tears as I realize this fact.
@blakebauman63746 жыл бұрын
I would advice you roleplay, don't be the Dragonborn, be a hunter, be a loner who avoids all people, be whoever you want to be. I have played Skyrim once, for 60 hours, then unfortunately, my save got deleted, I got it back months later, lost the desire to play that save, and started again only to realize after about 5 hours of playing that I didn't have the time to play it. Someday I'll go back, and work on picking up where I left off. My point is I haven't played it to exhaustion like you, so I can go back, and play the Dragonborn knight I was, but for you, you're going to have to be creative if you want to experience something new in Skyrim.

Chances are if you said you did everything, you haven’t, I have 4000 hours and haven’t seen everything, mostly mods get in the way, without mods it’s still incredibly detailed, I suggest watching nearly all top 10 things you don’t know, while playing Skyrim.

OberonFK, I can totally see where you’re coming from. I absolutely love everything about this game and I have a deep love for the environments especially. But I cannot seem to get back into it after beating the whole game, including the DLC’s. I usually come back to it every year and replay it. There’s something satisfying about doing the game over and being sort of weak at the beginning, and then becoming stronger. But, that is the point where I usually stop playing. I’ve tried all the mods available (At least for the PS4) to the point where I have no interest in playing sadly.That’s why I’m so excited for ES6. I want to have a new experience in a ES game and have my mind blown again, and have new memories (hopefully!)

Society is the real problem, things have gotten so bad people have given up. They retreat to places like Skyrim to grasp at the last remaining strands of what the world use to be, what it like it should be, while the world continues to destroys itself. Has something to do with the fact it's the crown jewel of Bethesda's franchise and they really need to recognize it for what it is: both as their baby and their finest masterpiece to date, possibly of all time. The good mods are the ones that are lore-friendly and simply enhance the game-play by making it more immersive and realistic. Ones like un-censoring the v 1.4 nudity/"enhanced" gore/"clean version" of prostitution/child-killing that got cut out (add in Forsworn and bandit kid mods for the moral dilemma of fighting and faced with having to kill in self-defense a child sent to do an adult's work), realistic physics, more realistic weapons and weapon proportions, spears and throwing weapons like they had in "Morrowind", better vampires, "Civil War Overhaul" to add back in all the battles and make them bigger and badder, "Cutting Room Floor" to add more characters and quests, "Skyrim Children Overhaul" for more children and kids of all races to be seen (including even orcs) mixed with the mods for Khajiit kittens and Argonian hatchlings (Lars is also even made to look more like his dad), realistic animal behavior, realistic hunting, survival mods like "Frostfall" used in tandem with "Campfire", realistic weather and shelter effects, hunger and thirst mods, and "Immersive Lover's Comfort" to go with those physics and nudity for a nice experience with your spouse among other things to make the game more like you live in that world and are a part of a real experience. Bullshit mods like Thomas the Tank Engine and Predator (not Predator-vision, which should be used blended with better vampires) along with everyone wanting their females to look like unrealistically proportioned Brazilian runway models or for guys to have hair like anime character, those are just an insult to the makers of the game and the game itself, to the story, and world they have created. Skyrim is amazing, and good mods only make the game a better experience for all of us (while stupid ones and the ones who use them ruin it).

I remember intentionally walking from location to location on foot, because my favorite bit of the soundtrack was playing. And now today as an adult, I still play this Masterpiece of a game, new account after new account, constantly getting more of the same feeling i got when I first played it, what an absolute gem of a game, this game is a spiritual experience.

MikeG82 This game has been remastered, so it’s definitely beyond holding its own. Some video games do age well. This game has far better mechanics than most newer titles out currently. Like Fortnite for example. This game is far more superior than Fortnite. There is a lot more to do in Skyrim without the repetitiveness. In Fortnite all you can really do is drop in, loot, attack a few players, and repeat. Not only that but Fortnite doesn’t have a story at all. Skyrim actually has a story and a larger map. In fact it’s almost ridiculous how an “older” game has more content and better gameplay mechanics than a “newer” game. Overall this game has not only aged well, but it can also outlive any recently released title. Once Fortnite’s servers shut down the game will be nothing but a memory. Skyrim on the other hand will go on to live forever, as one of the greatest video games of all time.

IMO Skyrim has better ambient, ethereal soundtracks, not really with a clear melody in them that you can easily remember, but still beautiful. The Witcher 3 also has good 'exploration tracks', but I personally I prefer the (way) more ambient Skyrim ones. In terms of combat music and event-based music the Witcher 3 obviously crushes Skyrim in that regard.

To be honest, I would have to say that claim is situational. I'd give it first place for peaceful ambience in the gaming world, but that's really it. In Battle music and some other categories I'd just say the music fits well to excellently in Skyrim, but I'd have to hand best music awards to other games for those categories. Just my opinion though.
