Jeff I want to ask you about positioning on the drumming throne, I've seen players that sit on the edge part and players who sit more back on the drum throne, of course this is an individual thing, everyone sits the way makes them feel comfortable BUT I've tested both ways and I felt that sitting on the edge feels a little more unstable when I'm navigating around the kit, and when I sit way back, having decent amount of throne under my legs feels better and more stable for me... maybe because I'm a tall thick guy, idk... What's your experience with this?

This is the first and most important lesson I teach ALL of my students and I go in pretty deep about this in my Masterclass www.drumdisciplineacademy.com/masterclass Sitting on the front edge forces your balance to be on your feet when it should be on your seat. This is achieve by having the throne support you upper legs, positioning your butt towards the back. You're singing my favorite song here!

@@JeffBowders Thanks for the response! I always overlooked this thing with sitting on the drum throne, like, If you play with both your feet( I keep time with my left foot all the times in grooves and fills) you might feel like something is off when sitting om the edge, expecially when you want to play multiple drums, like in drum fills or complex grooves. I have more mobility on the kit when sitting far back Thanks for the masterclass link, I'll definitely check it!! 😀

Question No matter what my ass muscles get tight which ends up doing up to mower back... then I have to not play for a few days... Is there some solution to this?

The solution is center yourself on your throne so your balance is off your feet and on to your seat.
