There are large blood vessels in your tongue, so even with how quickly the mouth heals, if you bite off enough of your tongue, you can die. Also, the ringtone on that phone is from the soundtrack.

The discussion is always good but today it was uniquely fantastic, especially the part where you two discussed the effect torture would have on you as a viewer and how that compares with killing. Obviously killing is worse but like you said, a person has a heart attack and dies--it's over in seconds and doesn't hit as hard.

Light stepping in front of Misa is just suspense for the audience to not know L's name, Misa definitely saw L's name. Also for the future please know that ABSOLUTELY ANY attempts L makes to make it seem like he cares about Light is fake. L will never care about him and finds him repulsing (As stated by the author)

dont underestimate light quickly they both always step ahead of each other,,,i know some L fan will always say L is smarter to fixed it in your head before you even decided it by your own watch ,,both of them are equally genius and capable in my opinion if you practically think about it but in this show light have more smart genius plan shown if you think about it, his human capability is more impreessive than L like social manupulation thinking far ahead of plan and consequences. people who push L ahead of light by saying more smart are just letting their own bias thought proccess,,,if you watch this without other opinion and stay unbiased you cannt decide who is more smarter,,but you can definity say light can win in wit game for his far ahead plan and thinking proccess,manupulative personality which make light better than L in this show

I’ve always had an issue with this part of the story. Why didn’t L take Light into custody right there and then? Why did he let him leave and prepare for what was to come next? L was the smartest detective in the world, that seemed like something so basic to do. There was already circumstantial evidence pointing at Light, he lived in the Kanto region, could have access to police information through his dad, the FBI agents died while Ray Pember was tailing him, and not to mention the 3 picture test that Light failed… and finally, a new girl suddenly appears into his life and this girl happens to be arrested for being the second Kira due to hair and fiber evidence linking her, so why didn’t L just…. Never mind!

Because he could prove that he is Kira but not how he was able to kill. So in case this would come up in a court, Light would win. And because you can't be punished for the same crime twice, Light would have won for real over L on that point.
