Misal Pav Recipe | How To Make Misal Pav | मिसल पाव रेसिपी | Misal Pav with Homemade Masala Recipes
Not going to let you miss the famous street food from Maharashtra, make street style Misal Pav at home. Have made this recipe easy for you to understand the aloo sabjee, misal and how to get the Farsan toppings that go into this Misal. Full of protein dish, must have, if you haven’t tried till now.

Ingredients :
2 tbs + more oil
1 tsp + more mustard seeds (rai)
1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
Some asafoetida powder (hing)
Crushed ginger-garlic (4-5 garlic cloves & small ginger knob)
1 medium sized finely chopped onion
Salt as per taste
1 tbs freshly grated/dry coconut
Some turmeric powder (haldi)
Some dhaniya - jeera powder
Some red chilli powder (as per taste)
1/2 tsp garam masala
Some curry leaves
3 chopped tomatoes
2 cup sprouted moth beans (matki)
Approx 1 ltr water
Some chopped green chillies
Some chopped boiled potatoes
Some farsan
To garnish, chopped onion, tomato and coriander and a piece of lime
Pav/bun to serve with misal
Method :
Heat up the pan, add 2 tbs oil
Add 1 tsp mustard seeds (rai)
Add 1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
Add some asafoetida powder (hing)
Add crushed ginger - garlic (4-5 garlic cloves & small ginger knob)
Add 1 medium sized finely chopped onion
Add salt as per taste
Add 1 tbs freshly grated/dry coconut
Add some turmeric powder (haldi)
Add some dhaniya - jeera powder
Add some red chilli powder (as per taste)
Add 1/2 tsp garam masala and saute on low flame for 5-7 min
Add some curry leaves
Add 3 chopped tomatoes
Cover the lid and cook for 5-7 min on medium flame
Then add some water to avoid burning masala
Add 2 cup sprouted moth beans (matki - soak in water for a day & keep in a strainer overnight to drain water and sprout moth)
Add approx 1 ltr water
Cover the lid and cook for 10-12 min
(cook until moth is slightly crunchy)
Heat up another pan for tadka aloo, add some oil
Add some mustard seeds (rai)
Add some curry leaves
Add a pinch of asafoetida powder (hing)
Add some turmeric powder (haldi)
Add some chopped green chillies
Add some chopped boiled potatoes
Add salt as per taste and mix it
Turn off the heat and transfer in a bowl
Further to assemble misal :
Take a serving plate, add some tadka aloo, some farsan, some moth and rassa(gravy), some more farsan
Top with some chopped onion, tomato and coriander
Squeeze a few drops of lemon juice and serve with pav/bun
