MISC #20 - Unboxing and first look, Hecht 6500 log splitter

This has to be if not the worst thing I've put together, then absolutely up there with the worst. When put together it works well enough though and based on my first short test it should keep working as intended.
I would guess that this type of log splitter isn't unique to Hecht but a re-branded standard Chinese splitter.

Hi. What to do with air bleeder screw?

You are not supposed to remove the bleeder screw. Just turn it out a few turns to let the cylinder vent is all. What's with that bird cage on it? First time I seen anything like that.
