So, I've been looking at the comments and seeing a whole lot of fuss about Green Day copying My Chemical Romance and all that jazz. First of all, this song was made in 2000. 'Mama' by MCR was made in 2006. Before y'all start accusing one band of copying the other, y'all better do some research 'cause assuming things and making accusations when you don't know all the facts is how pointless fights start. Oh, and while both songs are similar, both are very different. This songs talks about people being in misery and taking things to extreme measures while 'Mama' basically talks about how we're all going to hell. This song in particular was written about some people Billie Armstrong knew. 'Mama' was written because someone had supposedly bet that Ray couldn't write a polka tune. So please stop fighting over this thing and just listen to the music, okay? That's what the music's here for, anyway, for people who like it to listen to it and enjoy it, not to argue over who's better, or who's copying who. Just saying. Rant = Over.

Such great commentary on short-term gratification, not to mention that bumbling, happy-go-lucky, circus sound with dark and sadistic undertones that contrasts the message of the lyrics beautifully: sure, the drugs make you feel great, but if you need them to feel happy, then there's usually much darker forces, and experiences, at work within the mind of the user. Without a doubt, it's one of the most profound, if not the most profound, songs Green Day has ever produced. Absolutely love it.

Sometimes the songs can send a message such as "Life will get better" or "There is always something worth living for." Or the songs may explain how someones feeling, and it makes them realize that they aren't alone, and that can sometimes turn them around. To be honest, Green Day has saved my life. Their songs about losing people, made me realize how much people would miss me, and how much hell I would put my mom through. See? a band can save a life. Maybe not the band, but at least their songs.

+Pink guy True true, The autism is strong in this one. However I must go out and say that this rhythm (The Bun-bah-bun-bah sorta sound) comes from old Russian music and culture of the Eastern Europe area of the world. It's like their version of the classic drum beat that's in like every 80's music, the base and snare on the quarter notes and hi-hat keeping time in eights. Its the same cliche sort of scenario. So in a way neither of these bands came up with the beat and the MCR song does only use it for a few measures. Green Day utilized it for the whole song. So I mean you can't really blame either or for it.

Why wasn't this song on rockband. It would be a great challenge on drums and guitar
@thehypershadow712610 жыл бұрын
Because "Warning!" did HORRIBLY sales wise. It made the least amount of money out of any Green Day album and was torn apart by critics and fans at the time. Because of this, they were scared of putting stuff from Warning on there but they put the 1 or 2 songs that did good on Warning and were remembered well.

The Hyper Shadow I wonder why, warning is one of my favorite green day albums. The melodies are top notch, and the appearence of folk mixed in adds a little grit to spice the music up.
