Nope ha ha. It was the timing chain knocked it out of timing.

I had extreme backfire and terrible idle on startup (cold) I had diagnostics run and placed emphasis on high pressure fuel pump. It proved to have ver6 low on starting. I replaced it with an oem pump. Really easy job...new car unbelievable improvement. Good luck!

Thanks buddy well it worked out to be the tensioner had gone and she was running on 2 cylinders from the timing being out. Full engine rebuild and she is back on the road and all good.

Brilliant job mate 👍 don’t want to come and do mine do you😂 I’ve got a valve broken up on number 2 and I’m thinking of just scrapping it 🤦🏻‍♂️ would love to rebuild her but not sure I could 🙄🤷‍♂️

@@stuartnappin593 ow mate no I am done of minis 😅. This mini in question for some unknown reason has spun a bearing so I have rod knock. I have her up for sale as we speak as i don't have the time to redo it. If she doesn't go I will end up breaking it.

I had same issue but fortunately just turned out to be a wiring issue and dirty injectors.

If compressions are all within range,it will be an intake air leak,sounds like it's hunting.maybe pcv valve or manifold issue

It was the chain tensioner that had failed which knocked out the timing, broke the chain guides and snapped off an oil jet. Hole engine had to be rebuilt.

You know what Kevin I am thinking the same. But it's just strange to me that it has only knocked out 1 and 2 from a stretched chain 🔗 I would have thought it would be the hole lot.
