A few things. The new A-class digital dash is a wiiiiiide display! Funny how you passed a Focus RS on the way to the gate and then I learn that the A45 S now has a twinster-style RDU instead of a plain Haldex-style RDU. Wish my mk7.5 Golf R had this. This Merc has a great engine sound for a modern turbo 4. A/C-assistance for the intercooler, wow- like a Dodge Demon!

I’ve test driven the A45s on twisty Schwarzwald roads and it was a blast! Really enjoyed how fun the car was and also easy to drive. Misha, can you maybe explain the reason for the first media impression which was extremely negative? Obviously also Chris Harris’ reaction...

Whit3tec i think everyone is biased because of the fwd based 4wd and thr 2.0 4cyl engine. Maybe the tires renntech put on it also make a good difference

I know its been a year, but I can tell you why. Chris Harris is biased IMHO because he comes from a deep love for the big AMG models. Seeing the A45S being the carrier of the new generation of AMG C63 engines really upset him because its a 4 banger, he showed a lot towards that mentality when he did a podcast/interview with Mr AMG/Ready To race. He didn't like that the car isn't a traditional hot hatch but is instead a compact super sports car. Those 2 things made him see it wrong from the beginning because that's what he knows.

Only a few weeks to go before I will receive mine :p. It got delayed due to the situation we are in, which I understand of course. So did need some extra patience, but getting more and more excited since it’s getting close now. It’s unbelievable btw what Renntech already achieved with this car, but I’m probably going to keep it stock, since I don’t want any issues with the warranty etc.

Yea but unlike in the Dodge, it actually works in the A45. Dodge still overheats after a few minutes on track, despite being a huge supercharged engine with far less hp for its capacity, less stressed and a huge amount of space around.

@@derbigpr500 That is one of the reasons AMG MBs are always in the shop... Even more than regular non-AMG MBs, which are always breaking down. Everyone I know with MBs (and BMWs, for that matter) are ALWAYS in the shop for one reason or another. I have 3 separate friends with S65 AMGs, most of them who have about 5 AMG cars and several non AMG MBs. Over the past 15 years, these 3 families have had dozens of MBs. Each person I know with multiple MBs, always has at least 1 in the shop at any given time. Cramming all that HP into a tiny FI engine, leading to ultra high boost and a strung out engine. So a lot of HP, in a small displacement engine, is a good excuse for the AMG cars, but what's the excuse for non-AMG NA cars? Why are regular MBs always breaking down? It seems to for some stupid reason. Like electronics, safety systems, and comfort systems, that break and put the whole car into limp mode. A crappy $30k breaking down is one thing, but some AMG cars are getting mighty close to $200k. And it seems like the flagship models break down more than the cheap bottom line models. One of my friends jokes that, when you buy a MB, make sure to get it from a dealership that gives good loaner cars, because you'll be driving the dealership's loaner car more than your own. (It would suck to buy a S63 AMG coupe, and have to drive a CLA when it's in your service.)

If the police sees the scrapes in the wheel arch the car goes on a trailer. Maybe not around the ring, but definitely in bigger german cities. And they had some police controls around the Ring last week.

@RENNtechTV DE yeah I said so as well in a police control and everyone could see, thats only plastic. Couldn't be more irrelevant to an officer at Frankfurt to take the car away and check the clearance. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Since there normal clearance test was positive for me, I got it back later. But car was away for three days. And in Cologne, Essen or Dortmund it won't be any different, with the "right" officer at the control.
