Misha, you might need to check the records over 20 years, but I think you just set a new lap record for the Daihatsu Cuore on the Ring!! Considering how hard you were pushing the 22 year old car, I think it deserves immense credit that the engine temperature remained completely normal and astoundingly, there were no creaks or rattles from the interior of the car. I had a 5 speed 1.6 Applause 4 door (A101s) as a shopping cart and got quite fond of the thing, it was dirt cheap to run and I felt guilty neglecting it so I started to give it some love and for a front wheel drive that did mostly 110kph highway driving it was surprisingly capable. I too added 15" wheels more for potholes and speed stability with A008 Yokohama as a bit of a laugh and the difference was astonishing although 15k later I replace the very worn and soft 008's with Michelin energy fleet spec rubber. They are a truly interesting Marque and despite Toyotas later ownership still a good niche car, Nice to see one fanging around the ring on MaxAttack :-)

Of course the big wheels consume power, i changed the 175 tires with 13" alloy wheels to 155 on 13" original steel rims and saved 5kg per wheel. After it went better. Unfortunatly the cars have an illness with the oilrings of the pistons. The newer on consumed at least 1l oil at 100km.
