The same thing happened to me in a way I guess and I was heartbroken and I, like you, thought they would come back and I didn’t understand that they wouldn’t. Ghosting is the worst because it makes you feel like it was your fault, like there’s something wrong with you for them to suddenly leave you when in reality the guy/girl just didn’t have the courage to say I don’t want to do this anymore. At the time I was seriously depressed to the point where I was wanted to die, can’t believe I let someone make me feel this way 🙄If anyone’s going through this now it will get better I promise and one day you’ll find the right person. Don’t let it affect your mental health and self esteem like I did and talk to people about it, you’ve got this!! ❤️

Been there done that, I made my now husband work hard, because I was cold, played I didn't care, never called him, not because I wanted to hurt him, I was terrified of having my heart broke again. My husband had to come clean and say chill out I love you aawww, met him in a blinde date at 23, two kids and now 37 👵. Omg this exact same thing happened to me :( was talking to this guy for about 3 months and when I realised he was starting to drift and talk to me less I ignored it because I liked him so much. Was completely heartbroken when he left me with absolutely no explanation and I was too scared to ask for one because like you, I didn’t want to seem like a beg or that I was chasing after him when he clearly wasn’t interested anymore. the same thing happened to me!! i became extremely invested in a guy and it was a whirlwind romance and then all of a sudden he starts ignoring me and me being proud did the same back. I’m left heart broken but a year on i start dating someone else and then he pops up to me and says he’s been in love with me this whole time!! i can garentee misha if you felt something, he felt it too. Ghosting is without a doubt the worst thing to come out of the age of technology. Not addiction to social media, not lack of face to face socializing, etc. To think you have friends or people close to you who will literally just unfollow you and ignore you, with no explanation whatsoever, even when you reach out, has truly been one of the hardest things to experience in adult life. The pain was so intense, that people who liked me, who I had great experiences with for YEARS- would just throw me away without a second thought, that I’ve considered leaving social media altogether, apart from KZbin and Pinterest. What makes it all the more absurd- we all know it’s the worst thing that can be done to you, and yet the same people who would be crushed by it are the ones perpetuating the phenomenon.

Omg I’ve basically had the same experience. I met this guy on tinder and we had an amazing date but then he just stopped replying and excusing it by saying he’s busy. We stopped talking for a few months then he came back into my life saying he was so sorry for going and we went out again a few times and I got invested. Then the same thing happened again when I never expected it to, he stopped replying. It makes you feel horrible, all the promises made and all the love you felt just feels fake afterwards.

You handled it so maturely even though you were 18! It’s always important not to lash out at these types of people, if you handle them with grace you can be proud of yourself whereas if you get angry you always feel regret about losing your cool. Some advice from an old woman, if a guy is moving very fast and promising the world straight away, that is a red flag. It’s understandable that we get swept along with it, we want to believe it. But there’s no good reason why the initial dating stage needs to be rushed. Genuine guys will take their time to get to know you and build trust in a natural, relaxed way.

Honestly I've just come out of a situation exactly like this other than it ended a little different. Massively intense at the start and wanting to be together, and then him kissing another girl on a night out and me forgiving them because we weren't together. But once that had happened, his attitude towards me completely changed and it was rlly hard because he wasn't being honest with me whenever I questioned it or got upset. Never forget your worth!!

I had an experience like this, I met this boy online he lived quite far away but we got super close and met up a literally once but I was so in love with him as we’d literally been speaking for a year and a half and he’d been there for me through rough times. I knew it was all going wrong when my grandad passed away and I went to call him and he didn’t pick up but then snapped me saying what’s wrong like wow then it got to around Christmas I’d gotten really excited because It was just great having someone and then he just stopped messaging me all together and I stupidly thought his phone was broken or something, I got a message from his girlfriend 😂 but she was lovely to me saying that he’s messed around both of us then he messaged me like 5 months later apologising. Ngl It gave me massive trust issues and that was a year and a half of my life I will never get back 😂

I completely know how you are feeling! Lucky I found a boy and have been lucky to have him for 5 years but before that when I was 16 I was seeing someone. It was going soooo good. Until he told me his mum had ‘cancer’ and he can’t speak to me as much anymore. Then 3 weeks I got a message from him ‘GIRLFRIEND’ saying she was guna kill me .. I been ghosted before. It really sucks. It's left me more jaded than I was. After it happened I was like I don't want to be with anyone. I wasn't with anyone for 6-8 months then I met a guy I really liked and we been together ever since. Who I'm with now has never done anything for me to even think anything like that would ever happen (neither did the guy who did it to me so..) but it still lingers in the back of my mind and I think it always will. Ironically I saw a the red flags the day before we went to Disney, next thing I knew I’d been left alone in a foreign country with no closure and turns out my instinct was right and he had cheated. Even a year on it affects me every day, trusting someone is not gonna come easily after that.
