I saw a good majority of the kiddos at our show in Houston wanting to be in front or run to see the drones. Safety team were the ones who had to tell the parents and child whoa, hang on, safety reasons, yall can look while they are off, but everyone watches from the other side of the building, several hundred feet away. There were people asking why? And we had to explain. Many folks don’t take things into consideration. But then who actually gets the blame if something bad happens….the operator unfortunately.

Certain states have squatters hijacking people’s homes and the laws protect the squatters. In this instance, the drones had a protocol system and it was not executed. That’s where the focus will turn to in the court of law, not the court of common sense.

What's wild is this company holds a few Guinness Records and is used for many official drone shows. I've attended two of their successful drone shows at a music festival. They just featured a tribute during a jersey retiring for NFL Seahawks game on their youtube page. Wow this incident can easily be miscommunication via gps connection as devices have been having unknown interferences. Other factors could include wind gusts, bad blades, freezing temperatures. It's just sad a kid was injured at such a celebratory event.

Just really weird that they malfunctioned. Ive never seen this happen before. Coincidentally, while the world is sighting something weird in our skies like "drone and orb" activity. Videos where it litterally appeared that the orbs were shutting down multiple drones. Lets also not forget that a few pilots have also made the claim that their control panels malfunctioned while in the presence of them.

I predict, the distance of the crowd was part of what got the kid hurt. In our drone show last night for a different company we also had technical difficulties, coincidentally, also on the 21st, but instead of rushing into it, we got permission to come back the next day to run the performance of 1000 drones, which then went successfully...we had several ground crew and asked the audience to stay on the opposite side of the building from where the drones were launching. This particular scene looks like the very beginning of the show when the grid lifts up. It's VITAL that a double or triple verification before the launch to be sure props are good, batteries, landing gear and everything is not broken. These shows travel. It is quite possible that they rushed the set up and then had problems, but then launched anyways. We actually talked about launching, but common sense said postpone it a day so all technical difficulties can be resolved. Our Pilot in Command is VERY well educated in flight. Half ready is NOT good enough. Would you jump out of a plane with half a parachute? Me either! I was a ground crew member of a successful mission of 1000. I learned a lot. There are many things to consider before launching. Before our show, there were many people wanting to be close so they could see the show, but what they don't realize is these shows are really high up, so you will be able to see them for a couple miles...but if nobody is controlling the crowd, or if the client decides to put the crowd close, it's kind of something to be considered too. It appears that they are only separated by a pond...there is no real safety padding boundary so when the drones started in a different direction, there is nothing to stop them. They are on a program so they will not stop until they hit the ground. Wouldn't hurt for them to have an Auto-off program if they turn upside-down like DJI does. If DJI drones flip over or hit something, they shut off and props stop spinning.

@@ne0nZchr0me It is NOT AI dude...someone programs them. It also has to do with the condition of the drones. Did they need repairs? Were chunks missing from the props? Were they level at launch? How close was the crowd? Were they fully charged and program ready for launch? How were the satellites? Drones need the GPS satellites to be able to stay in control with their mission. If only 1 or 2 drones lose signal, then they domino, things can take a turn for the worst...Just saying...perhaps learn more about drones before you blame it on AI.

They also said he required open heart surgery but the pictures of him in the hospital don’t look like he recently had his rib cage cracked open. They are not really supposed to be that close. A safety distance is ALWAYS necessary...but if nobody is controlling the crowd, they end up too close. We did a show last night (different company), one of our #1 suggestions to the folks who booked it....Keep the audience on the other side of the building. It is high enough to see for miles, they don't need to sit right under the operation. 1000 Drones. Successful show!

@@soundbeast4957 there is a 200 meter wide lake they did the show over but it slowly drifted back to shore. Guessing that was not the plan and they hit the kill switch which only some of the drones wanted to come back in hitting other drones in the air. They originally have about 1000 feet of buffer room and above the lake. The wind wasn’t too crazy that night either.

They should have all been "fail safed" if the geo fencing was clear of people. Safer to quickly "fail safe" than let a child be struck. For people wondering, fail safe is a last resort for FPV ACRO pilots when everything goes wrong, or you have a "run away" like we saw many times in the video. Fail safe ALWAYS works regardless of faulty wiring or programming, you could essentislly call it the "kill switch", it shuts down all electronics.

it is important for EVERYONE within the communication grid of the drone launch area to put phones in airplane mode or OFF...the cell phone's GPS wifi signal WILL interfere with the drone's GPS signal. If there was interference, props with chunks missing or weak batteries, this would ALL contribute to the control/signal of the drones. One or 2 weak signals can domino the drones.

The more likely scenario it that one or more of the quadcopters had a malfunction, and collided with another, then all bets were off as the problem cascaded. Drone shows are more dangerous than fireworks shows. While it looks cool, if their signal gets jammed or they loose connection to the software program, more if not all of those drones could have plummeted to the ground.
