Thanks for this video. I agree about the importance of a catch can. Sending oil vapor back through the intake is not good for the engine. Eventually there will be a loss of power and flow when the valve opens due to carbon build-up. Most of the time, if you were to take off the throttle body, you will see some pooling of oil in the intake. The Mishimoto is a good catch can to purchase. It isn’t cheap, but it is well worth the money spent. Your video helps others to know how to install the can. Thanks again...

Thanks for the video I was able to install mine. Only issue is the OEM pipe was dry as a bone. My car has 38k miles shouldn't some oil have gone down that pipe by now? Anyway that's a good thing I will see how much oil I collect

Appreciate the video, I tried to watch a few others and they didn't specify if it were 2.0 or 1.5 turbo accord, and the rubber hose was coming out and in from a different location. I almost took out the wrong one lol I also unbolted the plastic cover that surrounds the oil cap and was able to lift the cables up a few centimeters to have a bit more room to slide on the clamp at 12:48

Any change on if anything has accumulated yet? I have a manual and am wondering if I should spend the money for one if I can't see the difference. I'm getting a slight hesitation at full throttle and am thinking maybe this may be the culprit. I'll be watching for any feedback. Thanks.

@@u-know-this according to Derek at IMW, external catch cans on this platform are totally pointless since all they will collect is condensed oil vapors and water and according to him, the stock pcv system is really efficient

another option, just plug the lower connection (the vacuum source) and put a small filter style vent on the top connection... Old school, Cars all the way back to the 40's have been venting crank case vapor to the atmosphere, no check valves, no filters. This way you have ZERO oil forced into the intake side of your engine.

@TheLemonFactor4 жыл бұрын
I have not. You think it's coming from the catch can?
@Robbie2Fly4 жыл бұрын
@@TheLemonFactor yes I do. Mishimoto said the culprit is usually the bronze filter. I am not sure what that is, but they have not done anything about it yet. I will be taking it off and installing the stock hose to 100% guarantee it's the catch can.

Any advice/recommendations for optimal placement of the hose with the check-valve onto the engine side nozzle? I can get the 3 other system hose openings flush with their respective attachments but despite my best efforts there is still a small separation between the end of the hose with the check-valve on the engine side and the nozzle. The angle of the hose and partial covering of the engine attachment I find make it very difficult for me to push the hose all the way up to its end point and I'm worried that any residual gap will have deleterious effects on the engine. Thanks!
