Wonder how many people watch this just to replace there radiator an follow step by step then wounder why the ac dont work now 🤣
@DC5RParts5 жыл бұрын
Not a step by step. More like a brief review. I don't show every single detail otherwise the video would be 2 hrs long. Anyone attempting this kind of job are skilled enough to know how the AC system works.
@dukeduke35992 жыл бұрын
Describes every other part BUT the part that you need to safely remove the ac system. I did get shot in the face with Freon, as this is my first time ever replacing a radiator and novice or less on working on cars. Should be pinned somewhere about the Freon.

Did you have any trouble with the coolant reservoir? There is nowhere to bolt mine down after installing the Mishimoto radiator...
@Douggyfreshy2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the video! My Type S needs a new radiator, dealer wants $880 with labor for OEM replacement. Considering doing the Mishimoto replacement and doing it myself. Also thinking about doing an A/C delete while I’m at it. Not many warm days where I live and would be great to get rid of excess parts :)

@YouOnlyIiveTwice4 жыл бұрын
Great video bro! My radiator finally cracked (which is pretty much inevitable with the OEM rad on our cars unfortunately) and I went and bought this exact setup. Was really dreading doing it myself since I figured draining all the coolant and disconnecting hoses would be a bitch, but your video was in depth enough to where I'm confident I can do it myself. At least I now have a performance rad that will work great if I ever decide to turbo it. Cheers!

I did this some years back. Love it when the cooling fans come on! If you run into coolant leaking from the rad cap, get a rad cap from the Subaru dealership. It's for the 2006 WRX (NOT STI). No problems since.

@@DC5RParts Quick question about that. I’ve read on many different sites that it’s a bad idea to use a racing fan switch and thermostat unless you’re racing, due to the fact that it can make gas mileage worse and also cause wear and tear on different components much sooner. Is there any truth to that? The idea is that the engine is designed to be run at a specific temp for everyday driving, and my car is used exactly for that purpose. I would upgrade the thermostat and fan switch too - even if it was a wash as far as any performance gains went, but not if it will make my situation worse.

Should I replace my thermostat when putting new radiator?
@fernyv1216 жыл бұрын
So I just need a new radiator for my rsx and was wondering if you think it would perform well without buying all the other parts *fan *radiator tubes *fan switch etc.
@DC5RParts6 жыл бұрын
You'll get the best performance out of it by getting the combo, rad and fan kit together, otherwise I don't see the point in upgrading the radiator alone, unless you're looking to just replace the OEM rad rather than looking for performance.

Did you notice any improvement in the AC ability or the engine cooling? My radiator and AC condenser look like yours, but AC is so cold even on the lowest fan setting I don't see any need for improvement. Engine temps always around 1/3 as well.

Any idea why my ac wont cool enough on hot days? I feel like these fans don't work quit as good as the OEM ones.
@DC5RParts4 жыл бұрын
These fans have a much high CPM than OEM. They are effective. Your AC not working, is a completely separate issue, visit a specialist.
@seanocariza32614 жыл бұрын
I had the same problem when I had mishimoto radiator and their fan shroud..my ac wasnt getting cold either or would take forever especially in Arizona heat. A few months ago my mishimoto fan blades broke so I replaced it with Dorman OEM style fans and all of a sudden my ac is working normal even during hot summer days..it really could be the fans, personally I think they were garbage

If you are in idle, it will take a little bit, but once It's up to temp, it should kick back on. Check your fan switch and make sure it's plugged in properly.

How does Mishimoto compare to Koyorad?
@DC5RParts5 жыл бұрын
Honestly, I can't speak for Koyorad as I've never owned one. This Mishimoto rad is always evolving in design and you always get the highest of quality. I never needed to look into Koyorad throughout all the years I've been in the game.

Sooo help me out guys I own a RSX 02 base, this guy running a performance intercooler without a turbo.....will that mishimoto intercooler change any different in car performance like adding a intake?
@DC5RParts5 жыл бұрын
What in the world!? Lol I've never heard of such thing. Well... I would recommend to take out everything that previous owner had done to the car. Install a Cold air intake system from Injen and call it a day. Also get a Type S header and catback system. Get a Tuning ECU like Hondata Reflash or KTuner. You'll wake up that base model a lot! Enjoy! 🙏🏻
@nikki53995 жыл бұрын
“Running a performance intercooler without a turbo” - lol And the answer is no. He swapped a RADIATOR(not an intercooler). It will offer no performance advantages other than helping your car operate at normal operating temps(usually between 180-220). You’ll only notice a “benefit” if you’re doing laps at a track and notice your factory radiator wasn’t keeping up, or possibly sitting in slow traffic for hours at a time).
