So way, _way_ back when the Pokémon anime was airing on UPN, the episodes only went up to the point where Ash’s Charmander evolved into Charmeleon. So for a long time, my brother and I pronounced Charizard as “Char-izzerd” (rhyming with lizard and blizzard) since we had no pronunciation guide and it seemed logical. 😂

I just wanna say... calling out "Phanphy, MediKam, and RayKWAza" is based. But I'd like to call out ArKEYus for the assassination of English pronunciation rules that it is. What follows is my nerd emoji moment. Long story short what determines what sound a C makes is the letter that follows it. If it is an E, I, or Y... the C makes the S sound-- and ohhh look at that. It's an E that follows the C in Arceus' name sooo... it's genuinely objective and no joke. They even use the Japanese katakana for "se" in the Japanese name, so if you don't like it in English, take it up with the creators too. It's ArSEEus. Not ArKEYus. Fuuuuuck off Silvally, the UK, and anime retcon shenanigans for gaslighting everyone into pronouncing it wrong for a decade and a half. This concludes my nerd emoji moment. XD Also based for calling Greninja overrated. And finally, Ambipom is abomination. Both pronunciation, and literally. Just throwing that out there because... fuck Ambi-- abomination.
