Your comment about the lower oval grommets is really interesting, I’ve never realized that before. I think what I’m hearing is we need to start mandating them in airborne reenacting- that way instead of 5 m1912 holsters, you can carry 7! Remember, every piece of gear or ammo counts!

Yeah, those oval eyelets were something I stumbled across one day. I never worked out why they vanished and weren't utilised on all cartridge/pistol belts. The carrying capacity and flexibility would be increase massively with zero extra work. Your comment on holsters confused me at first, then the old brain spark plugs fired up and I started laughing.

P in a circle is likely a proof mark. The same symbol is found on M1 Garand stocks.
