One of the darkest days in Offshore racing. I almost cried when I heard about it. No insurance company will write race insurance for the water. They had insurance for land accidents though.

Was it a crash that caused the fire or something else caused a fire ? And I had no idea they were turbine powered and jet fueled wow. probably makes NASCAR racing seem cheap (sort of )

i just talked to the driver, they just replaced the boat about three weeks ago, and it just broke down again

heres why it always has a problem... The turbines they use are built for chinooks not boats.

Class 1 boats were never turbine powered. The turbine Qatar boat has to run here in the US where there is a turbine class. It can't run in Class 1.
