In fact she placed FIFTH in swimsuit and THIRD in gowns and if you add those two scores, she tied in FOURTH place with Indonesia. She was lucky she was able to climb up to second place. USA swept the competition and maintained her lead by the scores and the audience reaction.

It's so sad because at the end it's bias. The decision was already well baked. The final q&a is the game changer. And it's really obvious that Samantha Bernardo really gave the best answer. Content wise, affective domain of her answers were really on point. While on the other hand, USA didn't have us the concrete answers. Technically, she got the error like saying sixteen where in fact fifteen years old. So from that as a judges point of view , then she already loses the crown.

USA's answers were never on the same caliber as what Samantha had said awhile ago. The answers Abena had said are something we're all too familiar with, and she didn't even bring anything new to the table. The mere fact that she and Guatemala arrived with the same answer during the final Q and A already broadened the gap between her and Miss Philippines. It's honestly unacceptable because we all know, Filipino or not, who deserved the golden crown. This is totally heartbreaking.

re the last Q & A , i think Mr. Nawat and the judges should review the WHO (WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION) advise to the world. Ms. Philippines has the perfect answer. Another way of thinking about the common good of older adults getting vaccinated is this: in general, older people who get sick have more complex medical conditions and higher health care needs than younger people who get sick. In other words, hospitalization rates are higher among older adults and older patients use more intense hospital resources (before, during, and probably after COVID). So, older adults who are protected from COVID will provide more relief to the overburdened health care system than other populations who may be vaccinated. Older adults are at higher risk for hospitalization when they contract the virus, so if fewer older adults need hospitalization, more resources, including human ones, will be made available for other purposes and other populations. And at this point in the pandemic, we sure need this relief. Eventually, there will be enough vaccines for everyone who wants one to get one. In the meantime, it makes sense to prioritize older adults, including the oldest people in our population.

I was always bummed out that she always gets the 2nd RU at BB Pilipinas before so when this opportunity rose for her as a MGI candidate, she didn't let us down. I survived the Philippines' 26-year drought of Big Four pageant crowns when Precious Lara Quigaman won Miss International 2005. I survived the Philippines' 47-year wait for their first ever Miss Intercontinental title despite Katarina Rodriguez and Christi McGarry being first runner-ups in 2015 and 2017. I will survive the heartbreaks and frustrations to see the Philippines win their first ever Miss Grand International title and their second ever Miss World crown. Sam had the best answer for me. She mentioned why she chose a senior because the seniors are more vulnerable and they have the most possibility of dying from the virus. A 15-yr old will survive Covid-19 for sure 99% if not 100%.

MGI only used Samantha Bernardo of the Philippines as bait to rake viewership..... It was clear Miss Philippines was excellent in her performances. Question and Answer? USA didn't serve it well. She was inaccurate// And that TIE SCORE at the finals night??? and the result??? It seemed like a script was in the making to get more controversy to promote MGI to the world...pathetic move. Now MGI reaps what MGI sowed.. When they have obviously rigged the results, what do they get??? Mistrust to MGI, Doubts.Biased. Unfair...There's no justice with this drama.. I just hope the candidates from al;l over the world will see the truth: They are only used by MGI to get attention and followers.

Real talk, habang nakatayo ako hinihintay yung results, sumikip talaga yung dibdib ko. Kung d ako nag inhale, HAHAHAH baka nahimatay nako, ramdam ko na eh. Putik Sam finished as a runner up again. But I'm so so proud of her. Okay lang sana kung natalo tayo na minahal natin yung nanalo dahil sa performance, hindi naman ganon kagaling yun.

Sam gave the best performance she can give and it just wasn't what the judges wanted. In their eyes, USA gave a more deserving performance. We are not the judges, so we cannot know what they are specifically looking for. I, too, was disappointed with getting so close to the crown but not quite getting it. MGI and the judges picked the contestant they feel is best suited for the job. All we can do is be proud of our Samantha. I have seen so many negative comments regarding the contest and the new winner. Please do not take it out on her. The judges chose her, so we cannot fault her for winning. Also, this makes Pinoys look like toxic fans and could potentially affect future placements for our delegates. Remember, when everyone bashed MWO when Cat only placed in top five at Miss World. It does not look good for Philippine pageantry and fans when the rest of the world think we are bitter and toxic. We will get that golden crown someday. For now let's celebrate Samantha Bernardo for all that she did for us!
