When USA went out with that yellow gown, it gave a wow factor. The color complemented her skintone. Brazil's gown felt risque but it looks very classy at the same time, probably because of how she carried it. Same feeling. Aaminin ko na na hindi naman talaga gano’n kagandahan ‘yung Gown ni Guatemala at ni Sam (nagmukhang tita si Sam sa gown at lalo siyang lumiit sa totoo lang). Kaya baka nga before the prelims or finals may nanalo na talaga or may lutuan talagang nangyari sa Finals.

Can we appreciate how Tita Lav gathered all the glossy photos? 😊 My favorite dresses would probably Indonesia and Czech Republic, when Denisa Sperger came out with that yellow intricately beaded gown with crimson accents my jaw fell on the floor since she looked phenomenal! Bummer she didn't advance to Top 5 but still, MGI produced their strongest top 5 so far. Love the review Tita!

Tita Lavinia, I totally agree with your observation with Miss USA re: "Thinking candidate". In life and in any type of career, keeping good relationships and keeping talented ones actually can pay off in one's future endeavours :) I was watching Miss Grand last week on HD and Sam's gown blew me away, I can see the definition of her body, then how show moved the gown was amazing... goosebumps!. The design was impeccable! So glad that the Philippines is rich in talented designers. Love your review :)

Atleast now we know that too much of a bling is not good! Literally. Ahahha. When this gown was worn during finals I was like? The heck? It was like a downgrade. YES It was looking expensive but the Gown was not flattering to Samantha's body shape. It made her look square shape. It didn't highlight her curves. It was looking straight. I would have imagined that Gazinni Gown which Samantha worn the other day would have been a perfect choice for her finals.

I love Samantha. The nude mesh washed her out, and the slant lines pattern on the hips made her look wide and fat. The lines could have been all vertical, and they could have chose silver or gold hue more than the nude mesh. I know they were trying to mimic Paulina Vega’s gown which is on the silver hue with vertical patterns which made the Colombian Queen looked 6 ft. tall during MU 2014.

Tita, honestly hindi nagshine si Sam sa gown nya sa finals unlike the other girls.. this is merely observation of mine. We're expecting sa sinabi ni kenneth na pasavogue pero iba yung hitsura sa screen. Maybe the lightings are also the factor.

i super agree. big void & too many gaps that can be played up instead by creative design possibilities. the oversized blings made the gown look too stiff & heavy. any color but nude can make them stand out. the pattern was too basic & safe. yes it made samantha be seen but definitely not stand out like the rest of the girls in their long gowns. the nude fabric was too obvious especially on the cleavage area. it’s supposed to create the illusion of the skin & not serve as support. overall, samantha’s finals gown is ill-fitting, unflattering to her silhouette, & made her look like the mother of the bride, though hot mamma.

When i first saw sam’s gown on screen. My reaction was “ay panget! Nagmukha xang matanda. The gown washed her out!” Nice to hear that I am not alone. The prelims gown was better. Her bb 2019 gown was better as well.
