Meteor Garden Taiwan is the OG of all versions and it started the Asian drama wave. It open doors to Asian drama series to be aired and dubbed in majority of the countries all around the world.

The Chinese version of "meteor garden" is the best in my opinion. The character development and chemistry between leads was amazing. I was literally crying the whole time while watching and couldn't get over the couple for months. People were obsessed over them dating in real life because their chemistry was so good.

I've seen 4 versions (Thai, Japanese, Korean & Chinese). They were all good, but the K drama and Meteor Garden are a tie for me. I love Dylan Wang. In the K drama, the 2nd male lead (Kim Hyun Joong) is my favorite of all the versions. The Korean version is, IMO, definitely worth watching.

I loved Meteor Garden far more than Boys over Flowers. I also quite liked the Thai version too. I think calling the Korean version of Little Women a ‘remake’ is a bit of a stretch, it bears little resemblance to the original and is more what you’d call a ‘re-imagining’. I’d love to watch the Korean Scarlet Hearts but I can’t get it at all in the UK 😞

Ahhhhm HANA YORI DANGO (japanese version) has always a special place in my heart no matter how many remakes it will have from different country. Tsukasa Domyouji will always be my first love (charcter in a drama)like literally I cried for a whole month because it finally ended. Like everyday I was watching it in our local tv station (gma), it was dubbed in Filipino, I don't have internet access and personal computer that time, so my fangirling was waiting every afternoon to watch the show.. and when it ended I was so devastated. Like I can't move on to their characters. So I bought a dvd which the subtitles were sucked but still watched it anyway. And yeah, I remembered that I always write their names so I wouldn't forget them. *Reminiscing* Those were my teenager days.

Of all the BOF remakes, Hana Yori Dango is topnotch for me and the only version that I’ve rewatched that I lost count already. I just love everything about it. The acting and chemistry is beautiful for me. Makino’s character is not annoying and Tsukasa was portrayed perfectly. And also the other actors that played the F4, they have this balance and not too overacting. Not much kissing scenes too but the chemistry is overflowing. So yeah. That’s the drama for me. From season 1-2 even the movie at the end. MatsuJun and Mao Inoue, they were the power couple of jdrama.

I've actually never understood the hype around the korean adaptation of BOF, for me it's always been and always will be Hana Yori Dango! Maybe it's a generational thing lol? It was one of my first dramas ever along with Gokusen and I was hooked for years!

World of the Married was so amazing, every little detail was important and even the title at the beginning was an easter egg, the dresses the main caracter wore had meaning, the cast was phenomenal, a must watch

Personally, I love the original Brit series though. A lot of the details in the WOTM were the exact same copies of the scenes from Doctor Foster so if you've seen the original series, the adaptation kinda pales in comparison. I wouldn't say the same for the other dramas mentioned in this list though (Boys Over Flowers, Destined to Love You, Mr. Queen, Romance Is a Bonus Book, Wtich's Romance, etc.).

Fated to Love You is an all time favorite. I had to re-watch several episodes because I was crying so hard/loudly. Still can not watch it again, years later. Moon Lovers is fantastic. However I still haven't seen the last episode, becuase they broke my heart.

I liked the Taiwanese version of Fated To Love You, the best. The ML in the Korean version ruined it for me. He had a maniacal laugh that was not only off putting but happened way too often and at times that didn't call for laughter. Even the FL made a comment about it in one episode. SO GLAD TO FIND SOMEONE WHO THINKS THE SAME. BOF WAS TRASH. The obsession for it reminds me of when everyone was obsessed with Twilight (myself included), but then the movies came out and most realized that the writing was terrible! Have people watched BOF since their first watch? The male lead is the hugest jerk and there’s no way I could support him after a few eps in.

Mr Queen is phenomenal. Have heard some great debates about the Female/Male lead. I had to laugh as you can interpret it any way you want. I prefer the original Little Women adaptation with Elizabeth Taylor. I would love to see a Korean take on Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights. A dark tale indeed would be a good Korean remake.

Life on Mars!! YES! I've been recommending it to everyone who ask me what kdrama to watch. The fact that they can somehow adapt the series to fit into korean culture was BEAUTIFUL! and the twist, the romance subplot everything I cannot recommend this enough

Scarlet Heart Ryeo was not well loved in Korea it has a low rating due to the negative mindset ratings of some knets for idols like iu and baekhyun….but it has a massive love & support and got hit internationally and because it success internationally…..international viewers wants a second season

When I saw Little Women in the thumbnail I knew you were going to be reaching. First of all when the source material is as iconic as Little Women you are not a remake of another movie but another adaptation of the source material. And that being said calling the k-drama Little Women an adaptation of the original is in itself a reach. Other than the fact they are sisters there is really little else to relate it to the source material. The bad part is that the source material is good enough that a good melodrama could of been done without all the thrills. You telling me we have a story where a wealthy heir is friends with a group of sisters, who is in love with the oldest, while at the same time the youngest is in love with him. Then you throw in a new love interest for the oldest sister. You telling me that doesn't sound like a k-drama.

It's good. Obviously with the 10+ year difference between the original and the K version happening, it means the time shift goes back to the 80s instead of the 70s, and that works really well because they work it around the 88 Seoul Olympics. So they do a good job of making it relevant to Korea. There's even a lot of faithful crossover (they do a straight adaption episode of 'The Warren' - the classic original story, and clothing choices are a great nod). But man, they really, REALLY whiff the ending. Doesn't have anywhere near the same emotional punch - it's just a fundamental difference in storytelling and, for my money, it doesn't work anywhere near as well. YMMV, of course.

Boys over flowers (Korea) was bad. Meteor Garden (Taiwan and China) were waaay better. The Taiwanese version is THE REASON why the Korean version was made. The F4 became hugely popular all over Asia and that's why they did the Korean version. Which is really bad. The only great thing about it was the cute guys. If you want to see the most hilarious version, watch the Japanese version. I had stitches from laughing so hard.

The chinese version was filmed quite some time ago and had a very low budget compared to the korean remake. I still think it's worth watching just cause of how funny the show is but the korean version is definitely more polished.

A big thing I liked being covered in the Taiwanese Drama vs. the Korean one was the father putting pressure on the son to commit being that she was older and may want kids. That was completely left off of the Korea one to its detrimit in my opinion.

I honestly love the Japanese adaptation of Boys over Flowers. I literally got forced to watch the Korean version by my sister 😂😂😂 The acting was stiff, there wasn't good chemistry either. It all looked forced like a HS play. I can't say for sure since it's been forever but I think it was watched (especially abroad) because of SS501 and Lee Min Ho's popularity back then. I also prefer the Taiwanese Fated to love you over the Korean You Are My destiny. I think for me, the goofy acting, sound effects, and transitions made it better as wwll as other characters story linea being detailed. I feel the Korean version was rushed and misses out some good parts. I had a habit of literally watching every version of a drama if it was available bacm then 😂😂 Adult me could never

Boys Over Flower is the worst Kdrama I have ever watched. Actually I never finished watching it because it was so bad. BOF was one of the first kdrama I watched when I started to watch Kdrama. Fortunately, it wasn't the first Kdrama I watched, otherwise I wouldn't never ventured into Kdrama world.😆 Anyway, after countless Kdramas over the years, I have to say BOF is the worst kdrama ever.

Go Princess Go and Mr. Queen had two very different budget. GPG had a lot of budget cut which you can see from the set and costumes. Not to mention there was a lot of censorship due to the content of the original work, its a wonder they were even able to air GPG, even though it was only available online. The comparison is like a high school low budget play and a Broadway show

scarlet heart ryeo was not popular when it was still airing. It was released at around same time as Hwarang which was more hyped. Also the Chinese version of Scarlet Heart was already highly rated, so there was doubt if the Kdrama version could rise up to it. But during the airing of Scarlet heart, it was enjoyed by many. One of them was me. It was different from the many historical shows that was about joseon. Scarlet heart was in Goryeo, it was dark, it had some funny moments then it started killing off beloved characters one by one GOT style. This was shocking but also it was probably the reason people got hooked. It was unlike most kdramas during that time. The OST were also very good, which this video forgot to mention. After the show ended, S2 was petitioned and until now, people are still talking about or even joking about Scarlet Heart Ryeo's S2, since the ending was so heartbreaking. The impossible s2 is even more heartbreaking. But it was good writing they let it end that way. Years later it was still remembered as one of the best kdrama shows. the OST is also helping it become a core memory.

Unpopular opinion: The K-drama’s female lead may be good but she did not embody the character that well. Even though she acted “strong”, she still exuded the usual fragility of KDrama female leads.
