Miss Molly (fiddle)

Miss Molly is a western swing classic, written for Bob Wills and his Texas Playboys. In this fiddle lesson I show the basic melody, then concentrate on Mark O'Connor's fiddle part on the Riders in the Sky video of this song. His intro is smooth and slick, and fairly easy. The solo is quite off the wall, including lots of chord substitution particularly using the G diminished scale.

I'm a big fan of your channel and hate to bring bad news but Mark was playing guitar on that track, not fiddle. On a positive note, you've done a very solid interpretation of the work done by Woody Paul, which is still no small accomplishment. I always found Woody's style hard to imitate but you got this one pretty good.
