An instrutor once told me nordic skiing is "a sport on one leg". I guess the take a way is that good balance is key, thus your body weight should never be distributed on both skiis. Easy to say but hard to excel. However, with your dancing skill achivable

yes, in fact, he was making that comment about committing your weight to 1 foot, which Dance we call a weight transfer. And indeed I am very good at transferring my weight and balancing on one leg. This is why I have a “leg up” in learning nordic.
