However, Miss Mulatto explained that she never spoke face-to-face with Jermaine Dupri about the deal, adding that their lawyers were the only ones involved in the conversation.

Why get paid 25% from a record label when you can get three times that amount as an independent artist. If you manage your own career you can get the full 100%. It's a no brainer.
