I thoroughly enjoyed Emily & Anthony as Kim & Chris on Tour through San Antonio this month - saw it twice! The entire cast and show were phenomenal. I loved seeing Miss Saigon 17 years ago, and love it even more now. What an amazing group of singers, including the characters of John, the Engineer, Ellen, Gigi. Bravo to all!

I saw Miss Saigon with Emily as Kim and Anthony as Chris. They were my first Kim and Chris. I thought they were fantastic in their roles- I believed in their love. I did not want it to be tragic- that was how much I loved them together. After all, they were my first Kim and Chris- they did standout.

By Last Night of the World, Kim is already passionate and totally in love with Chris so I understand the feeling of seduction Kim feels. It’s a different and interesting take and makes sense. In Sun and Moon she still has that blushing innocent young girl feeling. By Last Night of the World, Kim is giving herself wholeheartedly to Chris - it’s in the lyrics, dance like it’s the last night of the world.

I'm having a hard time believing this actress is an innocent orphan of war. She has too much seduction in her eyes and facial expressions and way she is singing this song she looks as she is singing a rock song. I'm glad I did not purchase tickets to this revival of Miss Saigon. Saw her sing I'd Give My Life for you on Fox 32 as well. I did not care for the way she sang this song as well which is sang to the characters young son Tam. Same thing no innocence of the character in this actress. I've seen Miss Saigon many times not only on Broadway in Chicago but regional theater productions as well as 1 high school. One of the best ones I have seen was done by Drury Lane in Oakbrook. The Paramount in Aurora did some strange staging moves in their production which I did not care for (Sun/Moon reprise after the fall of Saigon and The American Dream) but they did so a fantastic job of bringing an innocence to the character of Kim.

I saw this revival 5 times in San Francisco. I thought Emily did a good job and had some good acting. If you are looking for innocence, try to catch a matinee where you may get one of the more "innocent" understudy who was also very good.

I agree- I was hoping the broadway alternate, Liana Sta. Ana would be selected for the national tour. Love her! Bautista is very talented tho. Everyone in the show has much better vocal talent than I’ll ever have 😂

"Vibrato: The Musical" I love Miss Saigon (saw it 3 times in London with the revival cast) but the vibrato is OTT and some songs would be much better with more subtle dynamics. The Chris here is decent but the Kim is not great, especially compared to Eva Noblezada :/.

Everyone has their own interpretation of a role, so you really can't compare. And if she is "not great," then she wouldn't have been the understudy for Kim on Broadway or have the leading role on this tour. The people who gave her the role know what they're doing. It's easy to be a critic, but I don't see you in any big musicals.

As a Vietnam vet I wanted to comment about the protesting, bitching and moaning that’s happened because of this musical. Some people like so much now days was offended because the actors either used make up to make them look Asian, or not enough Asians were used in the show. If you knew any women in Vietnam as I did you would know that half French half American and Philippine women were everywhere and to bitch because the actor wasn’t pure enough or too white is the sickest shit and the most hypocritical bullshit since trying to edit Huckleberry Finn. Vietnam should be proud that a great play was even made about it.
