@@jacob-ni6jr I respect your opinion. But honestly, aside from Russia and the last three (Panama, China, and Venezuela), nobody else stood out here. There were far, far, and I mean FAR better candidates that year that didn't make it into the top 10, all because the judges felt the competition needed to have better geographical representation, instead of selecting the most outstanding candidates, regardless of whether they had met the quota for a particular geographical region or not. It's the one thing I hated from 2001 and then again in 2002.

La Rusa es muy hermosa y definitivamente ella debia ganar, solo que no me gusto esa actitud con la que baja aventando a todas sus compañeras sin siquiera verlas, casi queria que se hicieran un lado y reverencia para que ella pasara cuando claramente se ve que habia demasiado espacio entre ellas. Y que injusto por miss colombia ese año, ella fue la que se quedo pegada ese año ya que era hermosa y muy preparada, una de las favoritas y una de las mejores candidatas a la corona considerada por sus compañeras (hay una entrevista donde las misses votan por que es una de las mejores candidatas), lastima que no paso por que miss colombia ese año pudo dar mucha guerra a las finalistas.

Que te puedo decir, por eso le quitaron la corona. No quería acatarse a ninguno de los protocolos de la organización, no quería hacer ninguno de los viajes oficiales tampoco, hasta el punto que Donald Trump tuvo que intervenir para su destitution. Ella solo quería devolverse a Rusia con su corona y nada del trabajo estipulado. Yo la llegue a ver en persona para eso del 2003 y no era nada del otro mundo. Hasta engordo unas cuantas libras a tan solo un mes de haber ganado. Para mi Jennifer Hawkins y Natalie Glebova fueron mucho mas hermosas y con mejor porte de reina que esta Rusa.

Hubo mucha critica por 2 miss universos negras consecutivas (98' y 99') y luego India en el 2000 por lo cual se rumoreaba que le estaban dando preferencia a las morenas. 2001 fue latina (Puerto Rico) y la organización bajo presión estaba buscando diversificar con una Europea de rasgos caucásicos, es por eso que clasificaron muchos países Europeos para esa edición (Albania, Chipre, Alemania, Rusia, etc).

One of the fairest Miss Universe winners ever, but for the semis, the racism was more than obvious. In a year with 5 afrolatinas for the first time (Mexico, Honduras, Colombia, Peru, Dominican Republic), Sweden with african descended for the first time, USA, Curacao, Jamaica, Nigeria and Ghana, it was expected that more than two of these 11 stunners were gonna place. On the contrary, they chose typical enhanced beauties, sash factors and the debuting countries for welcoming reasons: Albania has the official photographer and China for opening its market internationally. In my opinion, Ruth Ocumarez award for the biggest snub, should have had Nicaragua's name: curly hair indigenous stunner that placed in Miss International instead. My top 20 in order: Russia, Nicaragua, Colombia, Cyprus, Jamaica, Panama, Nigeria, Ukraine, Poland, Portugal, Yugoslavia, Curacao, Brazil, Ghana, Sweden, Honduras, Dominican Republic, Peru, Mexico, USA.
