Zozibini Tunzi said "WE ARE THE MOST POWERFUL BEINGS ON THE WORLD" ,she never said we are the most "SUPERIOR".Nicole & other critics are deliberately misinterpreting her powerful historic answer in order to discredit her. Its funny that they are only focusing on on sentence of her entire statement,conveniently not mentioning that Zozibini expounded on her answer further by stating that "NOT BECAUSE WE DON'T WANT TO BUT BECAUSE SOCIETY HAS LABELLED WOMEN TO BE". Mexico in her final answer said:"WE SEE PERFECT FACES,PERFECT BODIES, NOTHING IS REALLY",which is a glaring misinterpretation of reality as she implied that everything on social media is superficial. But the likes of Nicole won't challenge her on that,instead she is showering her with compliments for being "sincere", her answer was dull,long,the delivery shacky & a lot was lost in translation. PR & Mexico's answers were too pegeantry & generic- we have heard it all before,again & AGAIN. ZOZIBINI was authentic,commanding & assertive . tbh, Mexico delivered the most beautiful answer, in my opinion. she was very clear & specific, and relevant. no gray areas, no over the top gender comparison, just plain message that was really relatable towards young women. and if you really take heed of her every word she went down to the level of understanding of young girls. i can tell she has gone through a lot of things that she was ale to learned those herself as a girl!

I believe when judging these things. It will always come down on to how someone made you feel. Mexico had me hanging. It was great but just leaves you wanting a bit more. SA made you feel happy. Her eyes and body labguage speaks strongly as the message she is delivering. People can forget the details of what you say but How someone makes you feel. the chills you get when hearing someone deliver that well will make a lasting memory

Miss Thailand's question was too technical and political. She knew that if she says privacy, the US will cheer for her, but she's from a country that does business with many countries including China where security is top priority. So I think she answered the question well. But she didn't make it to Top 3 because she didn't take a side. But life is not fair, so let's move on and congratulate Miss South Africa.

What you need to understand is it's not so much on the rightness or wrongness of the answer. It's on the delivery of the message or showcasing your stand. The manner they speak, does it command attention? It's an art like the pasarela and the slow-mo turn. South Africa is impeccable on her delivery. All three gave very good answers. I actually loved the substance in Puerto Rico and Mexico's answer but it was eclipsed by South Africa's delivery. She's the third Ms. Universe that gave the most memorable answer in the Q and A. The first two are Lara Dutta (2000) poised, very calm, fluid elegant and - Catriona Gray (2018) sincere, heart felt, shared personal experience.

I completely agree! ANYONE can form and rehearse the perfect answer, but you cannot fake sincerity and you cannot force authenticity. It radiates from within and South Africa truly embodies that. Miss Mexico sounded too mechanical and dull, in my opinion. If I read what she said on paper, she was spot on, but it didn't resonate as deeply as it could. Maybe if she spoke in Spanish, more passion would have been given out. These winners were the BEST in the last 30 years when it comes to delivery: Catriona 2018 South Africa 2019 Miss India 2000 Miss USA 1997 & 1995 Miss India 1994

My point is...the women who showed and compete, regardless of where they came from are beautiful. There is range in beauty and that should be acknowledged. I get this is a beauty pageant and historically there was a certain type of woman that was considered beautiful and If those standards were upheld, Phillipines would not have 3 title holders and 10 consecutive placements. What will you do with your privacy if your life is already at risk. I will give the government my permission to invade my privacy as long as they will keep me safe, make me at peace so I could sleep at night without worrying anything. I think miss SA gave the most unique answer compared to the remaining girls. Miss PR's answer is a shorter, stronger and more comprehensive version of mexico's answer tho that her (mexico) answer is really relatable and simple but the two girls gave their answers in a more persuasive and motivativing way compared to miss mexico and miss SA and PR ended their speech with the most impact.

Thailand's question was really the hardest. She should have gotten in to top 3. She still did well. I think if she could have given examples of security issues (specific examples) her answer will be more relatable and will make more sense to the audience and the judges

I wouldn't say she would've gotten in top 3. If you noticed her look: gown, hair, earcuffs, all those resembled Catriona's last year. If I were a judge during the competiton, I would've done the same- to not include her in the top 3. Judging by looks alone she didn't have her own personality. They want a woman who has a strong personality to be the spokesperson of the organization as well as for her cause.

I was rooting for Ms Puerto ever since she won her national pageant however Ms SA has the strongest, very specific, on-point answer among the top 3. Now, when you see here media week, you can clearly see that she’s a wide reader and can carry conversations effortlessly and she does this with so much humility in her demeanor; she’s authentic and natural. That’s why she won. As for Ms Mexico, she gave the very first thought which most people have when facing that question. Ms Puerto Rico also gave a very definitive answer. But Ms SA gave the most risky and powerful answer of them all. It was like an arrow being shot right through each and everyone who’s listening to her.

South Africa made the most impactful closing statement. That’s when she won the title. But for the top 5 and top 3, my vote goes to Mexico. Having said that, I acknowledge that Mexico, PR and SA are smart, strong speakers. In short extemporaneous speaking, two things matter: power of delivery and power of statements ( quotables ). Where English becomes the main language of communication, a speaker sets oneself apart from the rest with one’s ease of the language through creative and lyrical sentence composition that resonates with the mass of the audience.
