This review made sense. This is how a queen should perceived things. Like us, Ms. Nicole's rooting for Ms. Peru to win but how she managed to look for reasons why Ms. Mexico got the crown was so unusual. No one thought about it and if there's someone it's 1 out 10. This review enlightened me. So yeah, let's support Ms. Mexico as our new Ms. Universe. Also, thank you Ms. Rabiyaaaa‼️

Miss Universe competition It's a job interview that starts from the moment they arrive at the airport, Andrea kept giving amazing interviews during the concentration, she said her interview with the judges was perfected even was asked to sing and got clapped, and on top of that she was the best performer overall in EG and SS both prelims and final night, that first question could never take the crown from her specially this year that none of the answers was truly outstanding

I am so glad that you acknowledged the fact that the questions given to Miss India were very political especially considering the conditions back in India. Yes people say that she could've answered it with her personal experiences but she was standing there representing INDIA in a proud way, she couldn't freely express her political views to avoid political controversy and ofc hinder the global image of her country. The only thing I think lacked in her answer was that she should've mentioned that protests should not get violent and violence is never the answer. If she would've mentioned that it would've been a perfect answer. Ps: I am from India and I am super proud and satisfied of Adline's performance. She represented us in the best way possible. We made it to top 5 after 20 years which was such a great honor brought to us by her🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳💖💖💖 Peru won all of our hearts as her answers captivated us.....we could see the crown on her head as we wanted to hear more from her😍😍😍😍 Congratulations to Miss Mexico as well, she was very consistent and I hope she has an amazing reign and inspires many people around the world👍🥳

As an indian.....I believe Peru should have been the winner since she had good answers and was really convincing in her delivery and mannerisms while answering and India should have been the runner up because she had the toughest question in both rounds and she handled them well ( though I think if she got the same question and topic that Peru got she would have been seen as a potential successor to zozi)

unfortunately it is not only the Q and A that determines the winner but the over all performance. Ms Mexico was not a shoo in for the crown but neither of any of the top 5. A lot of people were not surprised because there is not really a clear front runner this year. This year, stage performance is the limiting step. Latinas perform very well on this area hence most of the top 21 are latinas. But none of the Q&A answers blew me away unlike the previous editions. Looks like were are back to the Trump era.

The winner is determined by the results of Q&A and also the tabulated votes, as olivia said right before the crowning moment that the commitee "has tabulated the votes" etc... Which means we cant be sure about who to win only by looking at the results of Q&A. And we also know tht miss mexico is also the 1st runner up of miss world 2017, which means she has much experience in pageant world, and im sure she performed really well in the rest of evaluation before the corronation of miss univ.

Amrita Parida Well, it was covering her mouth! It is not being poise. Any trainer would have slap her wrist if she did that in the practice. The only thing you put so close to your mouth that looks like a microphone is a hotdog sandwich. Miss India may have done that deliberately to hide her chin which was protruding. She is beautiful. But India can send better girls. Her question was also much too political and current. She did well! But so did the other girls. Not every can be crowned. So the way she held the Mic sentenced her to a Runner Up status! Her fate was sealed that second she held the mic too close to her mouth. Regardless of what her answer will be, she can’t be crowned for failing exude Grace which is the essence of that q and a portion.

I agree with you in some aspects. Mexico and India got political hard questions. Not even experts can answer them. Actually, mexico's answer to the question was very good. Even if she was nervous with the language barrier. The question was: If YOU were the leader of YOUR country (Mexico), how would you have handled the covid situation? She responded taking into account the specific situation in our country. She did not respond about the global situation, but about Mexico's situation Here in Mexico, the president did not take covid 19 seriously at the beginning of the pandemic and started the lockdown very late. That is why a lot of deaths could have been prevented. So it was good that she emphasized that people' lives are important. A similar situation happened in the USA, that is why judges really understood what she said. So, in fact, she had a great performance. But most of the people saying she did poorly, dont know our country's specific situation. Peru and Brazil were good but got easier questions. What affected both of them, was that they lost poise and elegance while answering. They talked more like politicians in election times. I think that they exaggerated their gestures and tone of voice. What affected Peru is that she did not respond the question made. She confused the tenses. Question: What would you say to the woman, watching tonight, that is CURRENTLY suffering sexual or domestic violence? She answered that she admires their strenght and that they are heroes. Then she said she is the heroe of her own story. But actually she did not respond the question. In her answer, she was refering to a woman that already overcame that hard situation. The question was about a woman that is suffering in the PRESENT. So it is very weird to tell a suffering woman that she is a heroe when she is not a hero yet. The best answer for me would be to tell that woman that she is not alone and not to lose hope. Then help her with practical actions: inform that there are public institutions and ONGs willing to help her, take her there and get her legal and psychological help, etc Also, when she was asked about climate change, she confused that with pollution. Climate change and pollution is not the same thing. The firts one is a consequence and the second one is a cause. She was very basic and cliche with her answer about recycling, etc. I admit this can help to prevent pollution but at a small scale. Then she said the phrase " little by little". This is not correct, on the contrary, changes need to be done ASAP. Things need to be done NOW not little by little. If we do it little by little, the earth and the humand kind will be extinct sooner. At this point, climate change prevention needs greater things to be done like involving goverments and the industrial companies to make a greater impact. Because we (the people) can recycle and clean our streets, beaches and forests but it will not make a significant impact if big companies and industrial countries keep polluting and poisoning the planet at a larger scale just for wealth. These are the reasons why, in my opinion, Peru did not win. She got easy questions and gave basic confusing answers.

Miss Mexico's journey to the crown is similar to Catriona. She joined Miss World 2017 and finished until top 5, on the Q and A portion of Miss World, she answered in English. People are saying that India's answers weren't strong. So to those people..... there comes many factors. For a candidate from India, it was very difficult to answer those questions. The final question that Adline got...if she would have chosen full lockdown then it would have become a topic of debate in India as India is going through worst stage of Covid in the world & if an Indian candidate was saying about this then that might be bit problematic for Adline in India. And if she would've went for economy thing so that would have again went against Adline bcz India is having mini lockdown so focusing completely on economy was again tough to go. But still she gave a powerful answer. About her final speech, India's topic was bit long as compared to others. Like others got topics like climate change etc, India got Freedom of speech & protest. Ofcourse many other factors work out too as she was the only non latina in top5. She might have felt the pressure. So for me India was the winner of the night but if Peru would have won ... that would have been fine too. But Mexico's win was 💁🏽♂️💁🏽♂️💁🏽♂️💁🏽♂️💁🏽♂️💁🏽♂️.

Also her second statement topic is such a sensitive topic right now in india..I think she got really cautious if she shud give example of farmer protest....that made the topic lot more tougher...because probably her org has asked to keep her from commenting on farmer protest much as current government calls anyone who goes against them anti national

It is easy to sit and judge but, to be on that stage and answer ,it is pretty obvious to be confused ,scattered and to fumble a lil cos even if the answer is there in your mind ,to be able to frame and pick up the accurate points and to be able to deliver it ,it does take time.But Nicole you are so honest 👍🏻❤️ more power to you girl.. ❤️ from India.

If Mexico won fair and square then I think it should really be reflected in the show which it was not. The show is structured in a way that leads us to believe there is a suspenseful build-up to the all-important final question. I think it's fair to say that Peru shone above all from what we saw. Because Peru didn't win, we are left with unpleasant question marks and a loss of faith in the MU organization. And these question marks, in the cynical critical world in which we live, effectively kill the magical allure of Miss Universe as a place where goodness reigns. Instead, the message conveyed is no matter how well you do, you still may not win or even come in second place. A sad lesson to learn from an organzation that encourages women to be empowered.
@princenhowell3 жыл бұрын
Mexico's win is not surprising at all but SHOCKING. Through the QnA portion Peru nailed it clearly, as if i am already seeing the crown on her head. But Mexico was programmed by this MU Organizers to win the crown no matter what.

Rabiya was almost there, she did all her best just to be there landing on the 21 finalists. But her too eagerness to win made her lose steam as she was becoming a little bit nervous and under pressure towards the swimwear competition as it reflected tremendously on her face. Masyadong niyang na seryoso ang competition, na tense na siya eh, dapat ininjoy lang niya ang kanyang mga rampa coz that could have brought a different aura and reflection on her face.

Greetings from Brazil. We're proud of our Miss Brazil. Although her answers could be better, as Miss Peru did, she could communicate without the interpreter. Our native language is Portuguese, and few Brazilians can speak English fluently. Miss Brazil tried to answer the questions directly to the point without thinking in Portuguese and without the interpreter. Probably her answers could have been better if she had taken use of the interpreter's help as Mexico and Dominican Republic did. Furthermore, the "aura" you mentioned in your very good comments is the way we Brazilians communicate: with lots of emphasis on some words and intonation. Instead of using "hands movements" like Italians do (and many Brazilians also do), I think Miss Brazil focused on the intonation trying to involve the audience. In my opinion, as a Brazilian, she tried to show how receptive she is to making our world better. We are glad for her placement and sad at the same time, because Brazil's last crown was in 1968. This year's batch was incredibly stunning! Many girls deserved it! Love from Brazil to all of you in the Philippines!

In my opinion, I feel like Miss Brazil should've won the crown because base from her answers on question #1&2 she consistently gave a good answer and a great conviction to what she is saying so no wonder she is on the final two with Miss Mexico. Second, Miss Peru although she really gave a good shot and you can see the emotions in there while answering on this q and a however, on this round I think Miss Brazil did better. Third is Miss India, I'm really sad because she answered well on the first question however, I think when she answered the second question, she got nervous and stutter but then she did well. Fourth, is Miss Mexico because you can see that she's nervous while answering the first question on the other hand she did well answering the second question so I think that makes her to won the crown but there's still a lack of conviction add to that her answer is not that remarkable to be remember since there are many former beauty queens and candidates who give stronger answer about beauty. Fifth, is Miss Dominican Republic and you know what, I think she could be on a higher placement if she just know how to speak english because clearly her interpreter didn't give justice to what she's saying and I feel like she's the most calm and confident among the five, sadly her interpreter didn't deliver well her message and is slow to interpret the message knowing there's a time limit. P.S. it's just my opinion base from their answer and there's no doubt that all of these ladies really did well. However, I'm a bit sad that there are many other contestants who are a great speaker and could've give a strong, empowering and confident answer on these questions however they're not on top 5. So I hope that the 70th edition of Miss Universe will be better.
@andreiacantizano69613 жыл бұрын
I think they would all do great without the pressure of the circumstances. I really didn't like the 1st answer from Miss Peru. She missed the awareness & seeking for helping part, which in my opinion are much more important than calling as heroes a victim of abuse. I have to re watch THE Q. again when my emotions calm down.
@anneefron89083 жыл бұрын
@@andreiacantizano6961 I agree, that's why I was waiting for something impactful to her answer in the end because I thought that she would give a strong advice on how to dealt with this problem. And after hearing her answer I feel that there's a bit lacking in her answer but then she did well on the q and a it's just that I want to hear more from her when answering about this question. But maybe because she is short of time so that's why.
@anneefron89083 жыл бұрын
@Irene Miranda I agree, that's why I was thinking that she will give a great way of addressing this problem since some of the victims are also experiencing 'victim blaming' or they are afraid to be blamed because of what happened to them. So I thought that she would also call out the attention of others that it's not easy what they are going through or to be in that situation, and not only focus on how to empower the victims but also influence others to show empathy towards them add to that persuading others to give a better place also a space in the society.

I think that people should pay closer attention to details in the very final statement of the top 5. If you see, yes Miss Peru gave an amazing answer with passion, but if you see her body language she was moving around a lot which is not necessarily bad, but if you compare with Miss Mexico she was super poised, confident, and projected much better. I think this to me shows she would handle hard interviews and situations much better under pressure because she doesn’t let pressure get a rise out of her...if you notice many past Miss Universe winners also have this quality, the ability to remain calm, poised, and articulate even in a tough situation. The entire top 5 was AMAZING honestly but when it gets down to the wire, the judges will notice those details.
