This year's competition felt very impersonal to me. The introduction without having the chance to introduce themselves by saying their name along with their country was my first surprise. Similarly the portraits for those who made the cut felt hollow: no mention of their advocacy, or their personality, no highlights of their country whatsoever. I felt like we didn't get to know the contestants at all throughout the whole competition.

​@@kenlau457When they make such a big deal of wanting a "transformational leader" and pushing the voice for change projects for voting etc, I think it is only fair to make a use of these things as well. Not to mention the highlight it gives to meaningful topics/causes, it's very telling about the intentions of some contestants that are very consistent. When you think of queens like Zozi or Catriona, they were so balanced. They made an impact not only by their performance and skills but also by their message which remains valid to this day. Personnaly, I enjoy miss U the most because of the balance between the glam, the show , the performance and the values shared because of the platform.

When it comes to scoring, it needs to be swim and evening gown. National costumes are about the countries and should NOT be part of the individual scores. The nat cos competition should be on a different day.

From what I see here, they should've make the natcos its own separate event like they used to. With more than 120 contestants, they could've actually made it THREE shows: the Natcos extravaganza first where the contestants introduce themselves. Then a swimsuit edition the next day and finally an evening gown event. The latter two could even be held in the same day: swimsuit in the morning or early noon and then the gowns later that night. I mean, isn't that a better way to make money with additional tickets or streaming? I suspect they did not want to pay the extra hours for the staging crew, makeup artists, and venue?

I have watched MU since 2012 and I can say that this is by far the messiest MU I have ever watched. Horrible production, horrible stage, horrible setup, everything felt rushed and even the winner to me felt like it was a rigged decision. I honestly never saw and still don’t see Denmark as the winner. A-lot of girls gave better answer than her! I am not sure I am going to keep watching this messy show anymore. I hate the cutting format from top 30 to top 12. It’s too much. I wish they would normalize the MU 2018 format. They could have done a top 30 speaking segment, cut to top 20 for swimsuit, cut to top 10 for evening gown and then a top 5. I also don’t find the choice of judges pleasing. Like last year, most of the judges were Latinas and we ended up with 5 Latinas in the top 5. Same thing with this year, most of the judges were Latin and we ended up with 6-7 of the top 12 being Latinas. I’m just glad the top 5 was more dynamic.

I remember the first time I watched Miss Universe in 1974 when it was held in the Philippines. It was the first time the pageant was shown live worldwide via satellite. I’ve been watching it year after year. I even watch the show repeatedly on KZbin when it’s available. This year’s edition is a total disappointment as far as production and the whole show is concerned. And, you have to pay in order to watch it on KZbin. I haven’t watched the show in full. Change is good but not for the worse.

Although, I love the new Miss Universe I don't like the MU org who seems to be all for money. Also the costume competition should be removed and be replaced by gown competition.

Miss Nigeria as articulate as she is gave a final answer that was limited to women in Africa and also came off like a victim. Miss Nigeria also has controversy that makes Nigerians look bad. Was she disqualified cos of anything ?Her Mum is the one at the centre of the case, she was an infant then and SA Government made a statement then that she was an infant and could not have participated in the fraud but South Africans chose to be bullying her..NIgerians are not looking bad at all, if that is the case Miss Nigeria would not have gotten the support from Nigerians, other Africans including some South Africans and the entire world . I think we need to be critical about how the organization handled the number of candidates and not the number of candidates itself. Surely, there are better ways to do it. If we say that a certain number of candidates is too much, we incentivize pageant organization to be exclusive and more likely, it is the less privileged countries that will be cut off should the organizations choose to limit the pool size of contestants. We should always celebrate the expansion of the number.

There was so much wrong this year. Firstly, was it only me who got miss World voice over vibes when the top 30 was announced. Have a look and listen again. The short vids that they showed after every top 30 was announced gave me cheap porn vibes and the warm yellow tone was not good. Then, my big problem. Miss DR was my favorite before the competition, but after seeing videos of how she treated people, it was over. I believe that's the reason she didn't advance. Top 12 excluded a lot of great women. NOW top 5 I'm never sure if they take the combined score of each girl to move her forward or only the last round's score. Anyway, don't hate me, but Nigeria had a disastrous walk She should not have been in the top 5. Her second answer was a 100% imitation of Mia's answer during the miss SA competition. Mexico, also not top5 . Her answers.....not good. I'm happy with Denmark, but I think Thailand was a more deserving winner. 4th place was really an insult. There is no way on earth that Mexico or Nigeria was better then Thailand.

Refreshing change for a European winner but Thailand should be 1st RU -- her 1st & 2nd answers were probably the strongest combined (but not too crazy about the bird-wing part of the gown).

What truly shocking for me is the continental format like Miss World for the Top 5. The spot for Nigeria and Thailand in the Top 5 have been secured/known at the Top 12 stage when both happened to be the only ones standing for their respective continents. The Europe spot was between Denmark and Russia, the North/Central America & Caribbean spot was between Mexico, Puerto Rico and Canada, and sadly the one spot for South America was the bloodbath involving so many favourites - Venezuela, Peru, Chile, Bolivia and Argentina.

This is the fifth (5th) time Mexico host the Miss Universe pageant, but it is the FIRST time the production of the show is produced solely by a USA 🇺🇸 base T. V network. Telemundo was in charged of the production and broadcast of the event of Las Catrinas, the preliminary competition and the final night of the Miss Universe 2024. Telemundo is a Hispanic T. V network from USA based in Miami, Florida. The majority or most of the production crew are not Mexicans. The President of Telemundo Entertainment and chief of content is Ronald Day and he is from Puerto Rico. In this last edition of Miss Universe the Federal government of Mexico, the government of Mexico City and the Ministry of Tourism of México weren’t involved in the planning, organization or implementation of this event, the Miss Universe 2024, was handled as a private event.

The Alphas are showing their age... with MU on life-support. MGI (despite of its sketchy judging process) is now the industry standard. The only thing I like about this year's edition is the fact that Nigeria made it to top two (even though she should've won) and unpopular countries were allowed to shine instead of the powerhouse countries everytime. Aside that, everything else was crap especially the crowning moment where Miss Mexico with her face looking like the pretty version of ANNABELLE was placed in 3rd place and Thailand who was supposed to be the one holding hands with Nigeria was placed in 4th place like...wtf

MU 2024 was OVERpromised but UNDERdelivered. The quality was sacrificed for quantity. I hope MU can learn from this edition to improve the pre-pageant activities & production, to give fair treatment to media & each candidate, and to have a better handling of their social media. There’s ROOM for IMPROVEMENT.

I was there for my 8th pageant and probably my last. For a Latin host, the crowd seemed mild and bored. Las Vegas and Doral were more lively. Not a lot of beauty queens showed up in the audience. Also super tacky to have the no name cosmetic brand with counters selling make up but no one was coming to them. Hope they learn because it WAS very amateur feeling in person.

I guess it just goes to show why they first announced that there would be no evening gown portion for the preliminary BECAUSE of the fact that they had over 100+ candidates and that it would take too long. A lot of people hated this idea because evening gown is a big part of the competition so ultimately they decided to bring it back but they didn’t want to drag time so I understand why they did 5 girls at a time instead.

I love your videos you always keep it real and honest… When Brazil and Columbia didn’t make it to at least top 30 my jaw was on the floor literally…Puerto Rico and Peru should have definitely! made it to top 5..like come on now I loveddd Mexico she was one of my favorites and I do think she deserved top 12 but I do think Peru or even Chile was a little bit more prepared and stood out more 🤷🏽‍♂️ and lastly Thailand should have won honestly Opal just has that it factor and gives regal and queenly vibes 🥹 I just love her so much and Nigeria love her as 1st ru

Yes Nigeria and Thailand had good answers and should hold hands. Miss Thailand got slapped twice by being pulled out to top 4, and denied queen of Asia when she was the only Asian that made it to top 12, and top 5…. As long as Ann in control a Thai queen no matter how strong mut sent them a Thai queen will never be crowned mark my words. Miss Thailand was sacrificed big time. Also many candidates were supposed to be top 12 didn’t make it. The world knows..!! Denmark is beautiful but why bother with Q & A and not choose the right queen. The world knows now… On Dani walker you tuber had leaked video of muo strategy how they manipulated things. Unbelievable..!!

The judges choose the winner and runner-ups based on their overall impressions. The rankings are then averaged and the winner is announced. That's why Denmark won: She just was the favorite of the judges.

I personally felt beyond disappointed that my catracha didn’t make it to the top 30. I followed Stephanie Cam (Miss Honduras) very closely since her national pageant because I am from Honduras and I wanted to get to know her and see what she had to offer…and I can say that she absolutely shined throughout the competition …she had that queen aura that I personally like…a combination of sensuality and confidence but relatable and down to earth at the same time maybe her walk wasn’t the strongest at the preliminary but it wasn’t worse than Miss Mexico either in my humble opinion… nothing personal because I like Miss Mexico but she was the one that I can think of for this comparison regarding the walk. About Colombia I’m still in shock being a power house country “speechless” that’s all I’m gonna say about her….i was also very surprised that Chile, Peru, Zimbabwe, Ecuador and India didn’t make it any farther. I personally love Denmark 🇩🇰 but being honest there was A lot of inconsistency within some of the tops if not all. I’ll just leave it as that 🤷‍♀️ Btw. Luis your reaction it’s 💯 on point. Muchacha Catraca she is was a fine Hondureña but i think the problem here is nearly all the Latinas had a veeeery similar look . In a line up it was difficult to tell them apart and that is when i realized the Latam block was too homogenized . and it is problematic when none of the Latin nations provide an afro Latina contestant .

I feel as if the winner is the one saving grace of this year, though that would have still been the case if Nigeria won, it was a phenomenal Top 2. This year to me felt like the confirmation that MU scoring is cummulative. Denmark did not have the best Q&A but she was consistently solid throughout the competition

Should have taken all ladies to a private beach and shoot swimsuit videos there. TBH,sash factor really played a role in this, and feel so sorry for that girl that could have emerged to be the best amongst the 125 girls. I mean I like Ms Denmark, but if everyone was given ample exposure, we would atleast see all of them. And Luis, you as a passionate pageant analyst, should know, this whole thing is manipulated. Until maybe they show the score cards in real time, will we ever believe what they show us. There wasn’t even a company to verify scores who delivers the envelope to the hosts, how the hel we’re going to believe them.

Macau was for Portuguese representation because Angola Brazil Portugal were out. I understood why Honduras and Colombia were out. Bolivia is in my Top 12. Argentina because there's a report they will host. Canada is Miss Roku channel because USA is out. I am not fond with India Ecuador Finland Cuba faces.
