Make this a tradition, Miss U.. this is not just a FIlipina competing against other races.. this is every Filipina who are proud to represent an archipelago.. And they made every dialect sound beautiful.. Who needs to be included in an absurd list of 'the most sexiest language in the world'? When Philippines itself has more than a hundred? And if they can't speak Tagalog or English, then that's when you give the job to professional translators. It's time for these dialects to be heard. @@SaintNemesis exactly. Dialect is a VARIATION of a language in a specific region. For example, tagalog manila at tagalog Bulacan (yong malalim). May variation o pagkakaiba sila pero maiintindihan mo padin. They are mutually intelligible. Kapag walang mutual intelligibility, different languages na po yan. Maybe you want to read more about what makes a language and a dialect. I have a minor in linguistics so I learned it. I also thought dialects mga languages natin pero hindi pala. We have 100+ diff. languages by the way

@@mirieshii1948 I agree with you. Language is a collection of dialects. Katulad din sa Cebuano(Bisaya) meron ding mga dialects. Halimbawa, Bisaya-Davao, Bisaya-Bohol, Bisaya-Dalaguete at Bisaya-Cebu City. May pagkaka-iba lang sa vocabulary, pronunciation at intonation pero nakakaintindihan pa rin. Pero pag hindi na nakakaintindihan yun na ang "language" halimbawa ang Waray at Ilocano, ang mga taga Samar hindi nakakaintindi ng Ilocano at ang mga taga Ilocos hindi nakakaintindi ng Waray, yan ang language. Halimbawa din taga Maynila at taga Batangas, may kaibahan sa pronunciation, vocabulary at intonation ang taga Batangas pero naiintindihan pa rin ng taga Maynila at naiintindihan din ng taga Batangas ang taga Maynila, yan ang dialect.
