ANTM British invasion Episode 6: Music Video + Azmarie Elimination recap by Annaliese PART 2

A LOT of you have been asking for this one! Its my recap of the music video episode which also happens to be Azmarie's elimination. So much juice in this one that I had to do it in two parts!

For some reason they REALLY wanted Azmarie eliminated. I always found funny how Kyle was bad a lot of weeks but she was kept in the competiton. But when a girl that was killing had a bad week she was highly criticized

I think it had mostly to do with Tyra feeling "disrespected". Also, the show had been portraying Az as kind of a snobbish, cocky girl for weeks prior to her elimination.

From my perspective as a viewer I always felt like they really tried to force Eboni to be embody this "youth" persona that she didn't seem to really feel comfortable with (or want) at all, so it always seemed like they'd put her in a box that became a huge disadvantage for her :/

I agree. That "youth" thing was so ridiculously stupid. She's supposed to be a model, and I don't know a single model who walks around with pigtails in her hair and acts like a child. Modelling is about edge and sophistication not Nickelodeon antics. Eboni went natural after the show and started taking on social causes and her career took off.

Tyra mentioned that she looked like a minor and maybe having someone like that pose sexy would promote the over sexualization of young girls and attract pedophiles which would be a problem for the image of the show

I feel like for the American music video, the lighting was really really bad. Flashy and super shadowy, you couldn't even see most of the girls faces, their costumes, or whether they were "modeling" or not. They had very little to work with imo.

Queen Annaliese, you may already have heard that Mr. Jay Manuel is doing a live Instagram chat (every Friday at lunch, I believe) spilling the tea on the 18 cycles he was on. They just got done with cycle 8 and are gonna do 9 this weekend if all goes as planned. One thing is that he's actually looking for a co-host for each chat and so it would be nice if you'd volunteer yourself for it. Sophie has reacted a bit in the comments in previous chats, which Mr. Jay acknowledged. If you're feeling it then try DM-ing him if you could be his co-host. Most people idolize singers and actors... but you have no idea how much I looked up to Sophie, Annalise, and alisha. It's like they tortured Eboni with her 30 Never theme. Alisha's performance was just a pure perfection, stunning,and amazing. Azmarie's elimination was a shocking one for me. All of the British team really rocked this Music Video. Kyle was a little bit too funny " High I'm Kyle" there's something make me laugh about her performance lol. Overall British rocked that week.

British video was amazing, so glad they got called first. But very unfair to eliminate Az, her photos were amazing and I don't think she had an attitude problem. Just because she wouldn't wear a but pad, Tyra had her pride hurt, so not even an apology was enough. Really glad to hear Az is doing well though. It was definitely Kyle who should have gone home, seems like the judges favour her.

Kyle had the same wide-eyed/possessed look as Xiomara from cycle 2, but they didn’t criticize Kyle NEARLY as much as Xiomara.
