ANTM British Invasion Episode 5: Toronto Fashion Week challenge recap by Annaliese

It's another America's Next Top Model: British Invasion recap from moi! This time I'm covering Episode 5 where we're off to Toronto for a Fashion Week challenge. Some of us slayed the runway, while others missed the opportunity to shine and there may have been the lingering stench of a bad attitude.

Agree! Seymone is physically beautiful (she reminds me of Gabrielle Union) but that negative attitude is just such a turn off. I’m still miffed that she was chosen over Mariah and Candace to continue on in the competition.

Ashley's energy is super contagious. I remember binge watching your old recap videos 8 years ago and I would watch the one with Ashley on repeat. I can easily say that you two helped me grow as a happier and warmer person and, a little secret: Whenever I would channel Annaliese Dayes on social events, I would 100% be the life of the party. I ALWAYS thought this, I think they only really redyed Sophie’s hair for the covergirl shot lol. I’ve had bright, neon pink hair and it stayed for about 3 months, but some shampoos and conditioners wash them out super fast. I also found colours in the US fade faster than the ones in the UK but they went to a very expensive salon…. ugh, it makes no sense lol.

The reason I loved this cycle is because they gave you three chances of doing castings, like you could totally see which girls had real potential to book shows on the real world.

I’m just gonna be real, Pink Tartan was pretty ridiculous. If you’re going to book someone, use them. If they don’t meet your expectations in casting, then don’t expect them to all of a sudden rock it out later. That’s obviously what happened when she told them she wanted to work with them more. Idk, I just felt like the lady was really indecisive in what she thought was confident. It was like that guy in Asia that wanted a “cool girl”. Like what does that even mean? Lol

I love how you won the designers over even when questioned about your height, which shows that personality does actually matter. :) I felt really bad for Catherine (still love her) and Ashley (love her too!) this episode though. Even Seymone, honestly! Did you think her shape hindered her as well? Or were there other "fiercely real" models in the shows, and it really was just lack of presence?

From this season Eboni is the only one that’s actually become more popular than the actual winner. You should watch her Tedtalk on being a black model and wearing your natural hair. This season was very great btw, it seemed more “real” Also would you ever go on a ANTM season of allstars if they did another season?

Watching this again, seems like Simone really had a bad attitude. She always seemed grumpy? Is it just how the cameras portrayed her or maybe it was the competition? Also, wow I watched this season so many times and somehow I missed it was you with the straightened hair. You look so good with both big curly hair and straight. Sophie also looked so good for Pink Tartan. Her blonde hair styled so spiky looked cool.

Annalise I have a question about the makeovers. They give the girls products in order to keep the hair healthy? Because it seems that some girls hair's 3 or 4 weeks after the makeover seem bad. Especially when the girl got extensions or weave.
